  1. Was just offered the following trade (team and league info in sig): Receive: Gurley and Crowder Give: Reed and McKinnon Crowder is a throwaway. I like getting Gurley because my team is devoid of stud RB/WRs aside from David Johnson. I won't miss McKinnon much as I have decent RB depth. Losing Reed would hurt but I have Ertz as a backup. Would you do this trade or am I giving away too much?
  2. I'm with you on this. If it were solely up to me, I'd stick with MFL. I participate in a couple of ESPN leagues as well but I rarely use the mobile app for either MFL or ESPN. All I know is that every year I get the complaints, "The MFL app is horrible." "Yahoo/ESPN's apps are so much easier to use. I can manage everything from them better than I can on a computer screen." "If we switched, I would be much more active in the league because I don't have time to manage my team from a CPU.".....and so on and so on, yada, yada, yada. However, after you posted, I just downloaded the new 2015 MFL Live app and I must admit, it looks very slick. I've sent it on to my league to get their thoughts. Hopefully they will be impressed as well.
  3. It pains me to say this but after 10+ years, I will be moving our league from myfantasyleague this year to another site. If it were up to me, I would stay there forever. I love the site and the customization. However, more and more of my league owners are managing their teams solely from their smartphones. Many have complained for years about the MFL app (or lack thereof) and how easy their ESPN/Yahoo leagues are to manage remotely. I've stuck to my guns for a long time but am finally relenting. So, in lieu of MFL, what would the next best option be? Our league used to be at CBSSports before switching to MFL. I've played in many ESPN leagues over the years and I am not a big fan. I haven't been in a yahoo league in a long time. I've browsed fleaflicker and RTSports but never played in a league there. The main features in order of priority would be: 1. Mobile app - as mentioned above, this is the main reason for the switch 2. Online auction - the site MUST support this 3. Customization - No site will compare to MFL in terms of customization but the more the better Money isn't a huge factor. While cheaper is nice, we don't mind paying for a site if it is actually better.
  4. Info is in my sig. I need to drop one. I think it comes down to: Cutler Ivory Hopkins I'm leaning towards cutting Hopkins, but is it dumb to keep Cutler around? By the time he comes back, it may be the fantasy playoffs and I already have Newton, Luck and RGIII.
  5. Team and league info are in my sig. I was feeling pretty good about my QBs last week, but then Cutler got hurt, Luck lost R. Wayne for the season, and Cam Newton has been inconsistent and appears to be more of a matchup player. I was approached by a league member who is shopping RGIII for one of my wideouts (probably Blackmon or Fitzgerald). I originally turned him down but then thought twice about it. With my depth at WR, I haven't even started Blackmon and Fitz much and I do think RGIII is getting stronger as the season progresses. However, is he much of an improvement over Luck or Newton? Worth trading one of those wideouts for him or should I just roll with what I have?
  6. So, I finally got my league to agree to blind-bid waivers. Only took me about 8 years... Any "lessons learned" on logistics? Our league is set up at MFL. Right now, I am planning to do $100. Blind bids end late Wed night. FCFS afterwards until 5 minutes before a player's game. I can't decide if FCFS should cost $1 or be free. I kind of like the idea of people running out of $ and then having to trade for more in order to pick up free agents but on the other hand, it may be frustrating. Thoughts?
  7. I guess I haven't figured it all out yet but I was thinking the following: technically, only the teams in the top league would compete for the league championship that year. The 4 lowest scoring non-playoff teams from the top league would drop down at the end of the year. In the bottom league, we would either bring up the four playoff teams or do some sort of combination like: the two teams playing in the championship + the team with the highest regular season point total + winner of the 3rd place or consolation bracket. Zooty - I like the idea of the winner of the bottom league still earning a payout. Right now our league has a big traveling trophy. Maybe we could get the bottom league a smaller traveling trophy as well.
  8. For the past 8 years, our league has been a two-conference league (20-24 teams), with the conference champions meeting up in the Super Bowl each year. This year one of our owners made a suggestion that I am contemplating. Instead of having two equal conferences, make sort of an A-league/B-league a la european soccer. We would have a premiere league with 12 teams and then another league with 8-12 (depending on the number of teams). Every year the bottom 4 from the premiere league would move down and the top 4 from the bottom league would move up. It sounds like it could be a lot of fun. The only thing I have doubts about is whether it would be too discouraging to be in the bottom league. If the bottom league can remain a fun, competitive league despite being the "lesser" of two leagues, I think it would work well. Otherwise, it sort of kills the whole idea. Has anyone ever tried this before? What are your thoughts?
  9. Sounds like a few people have played 16-team leagues. How are those? Seems like the rosters might be spread pretty thin.
  10. Thanks BC! What roster / lineup sizes have you seen with a 14 team league? Right now, we have a roster size of 18 and a lineup of 10 (see my sig below). Would it be best to cut some of that down with a 14 team league?
  11. Our league is considering the move from 12 teams to 14 teams this year. Has anyone played in a 14-team league? If so, what did you like/dislike about it?
  12. Need help at flex: Vick Ballard @ NYJ or Mikel Leshoure @Phi I think I'm leaning towards Ballard at this point due to the easier matchup but I could be easily persuaded.
  13. Need help picking my flex. Not the best options Standard Performance Scoring, 1/3 PPR Deangelo vs. NOS LaFell vs. NOS Rudolph @ IND I'm leaning towards Rudolph but I'm always a little wary about starting a TE at the flex. Thoughts?
  14. Thanks for the tips! I think we will give it a try. We have tried live auctions before and were just thinking of trying something different.
  15. My friends and I would like to try a blind-bid auction draft. Has anyone ever done this before? If so, how did you work out the logistics?
