  1. It is not unusal at all for someone to do well in a Coordinator position but not so well in the HC position. I completely agree that as a HC he was bad. But he has had much success as an OC. Your position on this is biased I believe.
  2. Just to nail down this somewhat vague prediction, I will say CJ will definitely either fall short of or exceed all expectations.
  3. Here's how I see it. Your WR's are: R White facing Carolina who gives up an average of 15.82 ppg to WR's L Fitzgerald facing Denver who gives who gives up an average of 18.92 ppg to WR's M Crabtree facing Seattle who gives up an average of 24.73 ppg to WR's Of the total WR points scored(non-ppr) by your WR's NFL Teams so far this season, here are the percentage of those points that your WR's have gotten: Atlanta - Total WR points - 418 - Whites % - 37% Arizona - Total WR points - 297.7 - Fitz's % - 37% San Francisco - Total WR points - 342.4 - Crab's % - 25% So based on that it is reasonable to think that your WR's will get their % of the avg points given up by their opponents: White - 37% of 15.82 = 5.82 pts Fitz - 37% of 18.92 = 7 pts Crabtree - 25% of 24.73 = 6.18 pts With these projections so close and based on individual performances so far this year, I see no reason to start Fitz or Crabs over White this week, or any week really. Especially since his team has averaged more points per game all season than Fitz or Crabs teams have. Based on that, the one intangible, Potential TD's scored, has to go to White. Problem solved, ASYS!
  4. Just watched the clip and while it is close, the ball went forward. Accept in the case of a "handoff" if the ball goes forward it is a pass regardless of the motion used by the QB to propel the ball forward.
  5. No not by any means. But I do believe his fantasy relevance has dropped enough that there are many better ways to improve your team for next year in a dynasty or keeper league than occupying a roster spot with Portis all season long just hoping he will return or to be able to put him on IR. Especially when you consider that he will be 30 before the next season starts and is playing for a coach who has such low disregard for talented RB's that he traded Portis away 7 years ago AFTER Portis went for 1500 yds & 15 TD one year and then 1500 yds and 14 TDS the next. Portis averaged 5.5 yds per carry both of those years as well and all it got him was sent packing? What about his current situation makes him worth carrying all year as an injured bench player just in the hopes that he will return or you can IR him rather than drop him? In a Dynasty League, wouldn't that roster spot be better occupied by a young player who may blossom than by an older player in obvious decline?
  6. I have heard of Dynasty Leagues and Keeper Leagues and I fully understand the value of putting an injured player on IR when you feel they have enough value to keep them on your roster for next season. I re-iterate, shouldn't you have dropped him weeks ago?
  7. I have thought about this idea several times myself, usually right after one of my starters goes out with an injury, lol. The simple truth is this idea works best in a Dynasty League that carries 30 or 40 guys on a roster anyway. But in other formats, ie re-draft and keeper leagues it gets harder. Especially with IDP's. My league keeps 3 players and uses IDP's. We have 12 Teams and already carry 22 players on the rosters. Our FA is very active(the way I like it since we charge for transactions). We can not carry 3 players per position so implementing this type of rule would FORCE FA activity. You can't charge for it if you are forcing it to happen. My other question is how is this handled by the automated scoring systems?
  8. Shouldn't you have dropped him weeks ago?
  9. I am going to go with, "He was being facetious!"
  10. the better question is, If you are in a free league who cares if there is collusion?
  11. I root for my Fantasy dude to score the TD AND then on the ensuing PAT we get Unecessary Roughness against the Offense, assess the penalty on the kickoff forcing a kick from like the 20, resulting in a short field allowing for McCann to get the boys in FG range where they call a time out and nail the game winnimg FG. Whew! Rooting on football is exhausting!
  12. It's easy, after the fact, to look back and disect a coaches strategy. I am sure we could find flaws in every coaches stratgey. Even some of Shulas strategy after going undefeated in 1972. But let's be fair, the Raiders have surprised a lot of teams this year, perhaps none more than themselves. Is it frustrating for Charles owners to see him split carries? ABSOLUTELY. But most teams split carries now, it is not uncommon. And if anyone discounted Thomas Jones presence in KC coming into the season that is their mistake, dare I say, rookie mistake. I mean Haley knew what he had and still went after Jones. Everyone had to know Jones was going to get carries. And he has earned the right to continue to get them. But, the simple fact is Haley has the Chiefs playing at a very high level after just a short time on the job. So I am willing to give him the benefit of the doubt where his tactics are concerned. Will he be perfect, no, no one is. But he is doing a great job and you can not argue with his results.
  13. To add to the list of things you are happy with, how about having 2 starting caliber RB's with fresh legs going into the playoffs? That is basically what this is all about after all of all the skill positions none take as big a beating week in and week out as RB's. So if you can keep your RB's fresh and win at the same time that is hugh! Haley is smart enough to understand that and to do what he can to keep his RB's fresh, especially his homerun hitter. As for why Charles got nearly every carry in the second half of last season? Who did the Chiefs have on the roster, at that time, to do what Jones is doing this year? All of the people complaining about Charles' lack of touches would have a point if any one of the following were true: 1 - KC was not in first place 2 - Jones was not being productive 3 - The KC run game was not being productive 4 - Dwayne Bowe had not caught TD's in 6 straight games You see even that last one can be attributed to the Chiefs success running the ball. I know it can be frustrating to have a great talent on your fabntasy team who is not getting 25 touches a game and in Fantasy terms what Haley is doing sucks. But in the NFL, where football and winning is a reality not fantasy, Haley is doing pretty darn well.
