  1. Wow, that seems misleading. That's not what I saw. Maybe contact is simply bumping into a DL shoulder? I like to watch YouTube videos. Just type in 'Rashaad Penny vs'. Spend a few minutes watching him against the big boy defenses. When the defender gets him, it's over for him. He goes down too fast. You can watch a whole game and watch him break zero tackles. I'm not saying he's garbage. He's definitely quick. He's really eating up yardage. Once he gets going, he at least falls forward. He looks very fluid receiving, but at the same time he gets plowed over in pass protection. All backs have pass protection flaws really though. What I am saying is maybe he's lightning to someone else's thunder (Carson). Because Penny is not physical.
  2. To me, Penny doesn't break tackles. I love the acceleration and I wish me popped that jump cut more often. But running through a tackle is not something that happens enough. I question him being a bellcow in a smashmouth offense. I think of him as lightning to someone else's thunder. I can see Carson mixing in here. But the draft capital is significant, the coachspeak is high. It's making me second guess. I just had to throw in my 2 cents in here before someone spends 1.2 on him. Please look at the tackle-breaking!
  3. i would do that trade, Norwood ypc deserves carries, ATL is rebuilding, possible rookie QB on the flip-side DET is rumored to be a power-rushing attack. Calvin is the #1 so Roy will take a hit if that's true. I would try to see what other WR i could land first since Turner has the upside buzz. But I don't like the ATL situation at all for him, cut too many vets. I doubt they can turn this franchise around fast unless they get a darn good QB, better hope Matt Ryan is the real deal
  4. pass on Gore unless it's PPR. Ryan Grant produced in his opportunity, it's his job to lose. Aaron Rogers looked pretty good in relief last year. I suspect Green Bay has the next good OL too
  5. I think it's time to sell FWP. He was getting too much work the last 2 seasons inflating his value. Once Pittsburgh lost him, the offense sputtered without his outside speed. I think his carries will be less than 300 in 08, more of a precaution. The Mewelde Moore signing is the new 3rd down back and I envision Najeh as the short yardage guy. It all equals less carries. You can hope he does more with his limited carries like in 2005, but take into account the loss of Faneca, it just doesn't look promising. FWP will be solid, I'm just saying you can get more for him now Bush = valueable in PPR. Team will figure out how to use him better, too talented... don't give up on him too early!!!
  6. Keep ADP, Portis, and Marshall You'll be better off getting a good QB later... good WRs will be long gone. The point dropoff will be less at QB if you don't draft again until the 5th. Use the 1rst on a WR!!! stud WRs are becoming harder to come by than RBs Wouldn't drop Portis because he scores TDs, line was banged up last year, new offenses tend to favor the RB. Not too many situations where a rook RB is going to be handed the reigns either, maybe HOU or CHI. but HOU has been linked to Warrick Dunn. I wouldn't bank on no rook this year, that's just me
  7. Maybe if the Raiders would just throw him the ball, I still have cracks in my house from TD #1
  8. Someone needs to take out Al Davis, he's gone overboard. No one wants to go to Oakland, so he's blowing all his loot to make it happen. Agents are drooling since the Tommy Kelly signing
  9. here's some good ammo for the Ryan Grant lovers
  10. Griddy Awards PFW listed some awards for NFL analysts, not sure if these are real awards. Where's Madden?
  11. this seems to be a common personality in Hollywood
  12. i remember a rumor posted earlier this year about CJ being traded to the Colts. did that have any legs? Colts definitely like to draft their talent and build from within; Anthony Gonzales has shown something too. But this rumor sounds all too possible to me with the early playoff loss and it would mimic what the Pats did
  13. Giants need the pash rush in full effect to get Favre out of his game. They're definitely a team you can't count out with those superior DEs AND all that depth at that position. One pressure could be disaster for Favre, you know the Pack are going to need to win the trenches for an effective running game to help Favre. Giants secondary NEEDS to prevent long gains, but even harder for them will be having to run up and MAKE those tackles against these receivers.
  14. Miami will prob make a big signing. Zach might be cut
  15. if i hear Omaha one more time...
  16. I like how he's quieted down the trouble-making that was going on when he took over this team. I like the hiring of Tomlin/Frazier because the D has been respectable since. Just to give some tiny credit. He has to be knocked for ignoring QB and WR all offseason. The Vikes really wanted Kevin Curtis, but when that didn't work out it got ugly with Wade next in line. Then the Vikes went out and gave V. Shiancoe (who?) huge money just to spend the minimum salary cap. This team has tons of salary cap space and chose to sit on it. Not even hand out any 1-yr contracts? I just don't see the logic last offseason and it's showing now.
  17. maybe it was written by bush. seems very knowledgable and has seen all USC and Saints games
  18. Don't start Pepper against the teams that bring the heat, that's when it starts raining fumbles. But seriously, he looks good QBing a running team, reminds me of his first sesaon of action with the Vikes
  19. nice to see a generous giving by Brees, the timing of it is so unselfish with the bad start to the season and all. At such a time where most athletes would be freakin out thinking about themselves and how they can get back on top of the world. Brees does a good deed and goes about business... class act.
  20. Yeah, Porter is going to get more opportunities with Culpepper keeping the chains moving. Daunte loves to throw deep, so Porter should get some good games in. I doubt the stats will be consistent though, every time I watch Oakland this year... all they want to do is run all day. Not enough opportunities
  21. I wouldn't lump Leonard with Alstott or Minor... have you seen him play? Pittman will be lucky to get scraps
  22. If Calvin Johnson can keep pushing off DBs for TDs, I think they might have a shot.
  23. He's not the third down back anymore? I thought that was one of his strengths. I kept seeing Shipp and even Arrington toniight
