  1. So this is just a fantasy football open discussion with wings and beer!? Sick! I love Minnesota.
  2. I could see not considering him in the very top tier, but the guys floor/ceiling is so much higher then a lot of guys ranked ahead of him. Not trying to fish or anything but what is the logic behind the rank DMD? I feel that the loss of Warner leads to poorer QB play but also more targets overall and more garbage numbers so I feel it's a wash. Not to mention he does have a super elite skill set to help compensate. Hate to feel like I'm missing something major here, so please enlighten me kind sir.
  3. I've always felt that the loss of Faneca will actually be better for the line over the course of the season. I guess I'm not the only one, ProFootballFocus.com has the Jets O-line ranked as the best overall. They have their o-line rankings with a write-up for each team and overall the article is about the best line rankings I've yet to see.
  4. WOW! First time I took a look at that list.......Fitz....28th...................................
  5. Here's a solid read on the pros/cons of Shonn Greene.
  6. FAN EFFIN TASTIC!!!!!!!! Don't sell yourself short bro! The indecision you have regarding all of them them speaks volumes! As it stands now I've seen Greene going a lot higher then his ADP, like somewhere between the late first and mid second. I really like him but, I guess I just have way too many questions at this junction. I feel the same way you do regarding McKnight, a gadget player who may show some flashes in special teams but he's not going to see a significant number of touches without some major injuries. 50 carries seems almost too generous. L.T. is a really hard variable for me to decipher. On one hand it hasn't been very long since we've seen a very capable RB that could fill a very important niche role a la Chester Taylor. However, one of the cardinal sins in fantasy football is allowing the past to fully dictate your action. Then I see a blog post like LaDone. Granted it is The Post and they have papers to sell, but I also know he doesn't take criticism well and it's pretty damn early for the papers to rip into him unjustly. then you have the Jets post THIS on their front page right after L.T. has an ESPN interview where he says the Jets are going to win the SB, but even more significant is the fact he states he has a slight edge in a competition for starter.(SOURCE) It's hard for me to believe the Jets just posted that article front and center just hours later by coincidence. This really has me going back and taking a strong reevaluation of L.T. and his role going forward. The other variable that has me befuddled is the O-line where again my questions abound. What happens with the guard spot Fanica vacated? Is it really that significant of a loss, if even a downgrade at all? Not to mention the Brick contract situation. I've heard reports that the contract will be done by training camp and reports that they're not even close, so what kind of time does he miss? Say he only sits for training camp, so does that necessarily mean that he'll show up for week one fat and slow? Does all that missed time compound the damage to the delicate o-line chemisty that the team is incurring from assimilating one or two new guards? Then of course you have all the question marks you raised with Shonn i.e. the chest injury when he was given a full load in the playoffs and the very high fumble to carry ratio, but he does have some amazing talent and I can't just outright dismiss him. To be honest I'd love to dismiss the entire team outright, but we're talking about somewhere in the neighborhood of SIX-HUNDRED carries just sitting on the table waiting to be distributed. Anyway, a thousand thank yous for the fantastic insight and I hope you'll revisit this thread frequently as we move forward and the picture becomes a bit clearer.
  7. Henry Muto is really George Clooney. Jahvid Best has 150 carries or less.
  8. What kind of stats are you predicting for them? I hear that LT is not a threat at all to steal a large number of carries and I feel Shonn will be the guy to get, but is he really worth the ADP? You've proven to have way more knowledge then myself regarding this team, so I eagerly await what are your thoughts are regarding how they'll pan out this season?
  9. During the regular season we all say that Brett is too honest and needs to develop a filter.(i.e. when he got into it with Chilli and then told the world about it.) Then the offseason rolls around and he's the master manipulator doing whatever it takes to get out of training camp. Which is it!? The fact is everyone in the organization from top to bottom has stated ad nauseum that Brett could hop on the plane en route to the Superdome and be the starter week 1. From the STrib
  10. Actually Perrilloux and Favre share the same agent, Bus Cook, and Favre has been working with Perrilloux in preperation for his tryout for the Vikings this weekend. It's not clear if Favre was there just to help Perrilloux, if he was starting drills in preperation for the next season, and/or testing the ankle. Either way I take it as a damn good sign that he's getting the football bug this early in the offseason. Then you have the actions of the fan base, from taking out full page adds in his local paper to billboards down the road from his house all thanking him and begging him to come back for at least one more shot. Even our main fan forum, purplepride.org, is going for a motorcycle ride down there called Project: 4 DAYS 4 FAVRE Ride to Hattiesburg Mississippi. 100%, he will be back.
  11. Right, because we can't pick up a bratty overhyped snot to play third string in next years QB crop.
  12. +1 Decker was an amazing player on a very bad Gopher offense. He would constantly have at least three guys drapped over him and then Webber would throw a duck that left him out to dry and he would still come down with the ball. Teams would plan their entire D around stopping E.D., because we had nothing else, and he would still destroy them. I've never seen another Gopher with better hands a better ability to attack the ball. Just look at the team with him and without him. You got an amazing player two rounds after he would have gone because he came back too fast from the first injury and reinjured it. It's not like a lisfrac will slow a player down once they recover, soooooo what's the problem?
  13. We lost 3 players to FA this year: Taylor, Hicks, and Paymah(cut) from a roster that had 5 turnovers and was still a play away from the SB, we have 21 starters returning(at this point Griff looks to be more of a longshot to recover on time and Brett WILL be back). Because we were a top 4 team we were severely handicapped in the FA market and anything left was below the talent of the starters, so what exactly would you have them do? What did you feel needed to be addressed but wasn't? A lot of people are very angry that we didn't go after a QB, but I couldn't see spending a first or a second on a guy that would be at best third on the depth chart and not a very good fit in a vet locker room. Why create the controversy and a reason for Brett not to come back when there is a ton of risk involved with all three of the QBs we actually had a shot at. I was really pissed Wilson didn't fall to us but I'd rather have the 6'2 Cook over the 5'11 Robinson just because both players would have to have a good training camp just to make the starting roster, but Cook being a young Frasier, projects a lot better into the cover 2 we often play. The same goes for Toby, he fits the scheme very very well. I couldn't think of a better RB step on the other teams throat and keep our D off the field once a game is wrapped up in the fourth, or a two back set where he can turn the "Tahi 1 yard swing pass and then fall down" into a big gain as teams key in on A.D. He's an amazing blocker and can do some great things recieving even though he wasn't used very often for that. Bottom line is E.B. is one of the best RB coaches in the NFL, and while he may not be able to count the number of men in a huddle very well, but his great eye for talent is without question.
  14. Being an oil guy maybe you can help me enlighten some of my buddies. What kind of negative environmental impact could this have if any? They evoke images of Seagal and On Deadly Ground. My personal feelings is that it won't be an eyesore because the platforms must be something like 150 miles off the coast. The quality of the reservoir is some of the best material like you say and the drilling technology has come a long way in it's negative impacts on the environment. To me it makes perfect sense and is yet another in the line of very moderate moves by Obama.
