They beat Don Shula and his heavily favored Baltimore Colts 16-7 in SB III (which wasn't even called SB then). I was 9 years old and going to games at Shea Stadium then.

eh.. true for any team. And Jets fans have already been through this twice: 1999: after one game away from a Super Bowl appearance in 1998, Parcells Jets came into 1999 with a winning expectation. Then on the 1st series in game 1 of 1999, Vinny Testaverde handed the ball to Curtis Martin, who fumbled it, and Vinny turned awkwardly to retrieve the ball and of course.... ruptured achilles. 1999 season down the toilet on that warm September day. Turn to 2023. Jets come in with high expectations and Rodgers goes down 3 plays in to the opening series with... yup... torn achilles. Season over after 3 plays. Twice is enough in one lifetime dude. So just how fitting would it be to happen a 3rd time? You are one mean dude DMD.

Yeah he gets beat up. He doesn't separate so he will always be in battles. But he wins most of them. Still happy to have him. Fills an immediate need and the Jets can draft a WR prospect in April.

oh sure. Still a solid signing for a team that hasn't has big bodied X in forever. With the additions of Williams, Moses and Tyron Smith, the Jets now have far more flexibility with pick 10 including trading out. WR and OT have been the greatest needs. IOL and safety are needed too. I don't particularly want Bowers at 10. Not a fan of early TEs. Kelce, Kittle and the vast majority of stud TEs were not 1st rd picks. Sure, Tony Gonzalez was a 1st rounder. Hockenson was a #11 and only recently has started to live up to that spot.

One-year deal with incentives that could potentially go up to $15 mill. Jets finally have a large bodied split-end. I think the last solid X receiver we had was Braylon Edwards. Before that was Brandon Marshall and Keyshawn Johnson, over 25 yrs ago. But it was neither the financials nor the QB that convinced Mike to not leave the building. It was the sandwich.

I won the tube socks about 5-6 yrs ago. Those babies are super extra long and very thick.

He may be 72, but an opportunity to return to SoCal with some dude named Herbert could be just too good to resist.
