I am in a 12 team PPR league. We re-draft every year and are allowed only one Keeper. Keeper is relatively new in my league which is why I have questions.
Draft slot and keeper player are determined on draft night. If you keep a player, whatever round you drafted him in 2016 you will lose that pick this year.So if you drafted this year's keeper in the 3rd round in 2016, you would not have a 3rd round pick in 2017.
I had a poor season last year , so have only two players that I would consider keeping. Antonio Brown and Isaiah Crowell. Brown was my first round pick last year. I took Crowell in round 8 last year and I see where he is projected as a 2nd or 3rd rounder this year so I realty like the idea of having that value at the cost of an 8th round pick.
I am thinking that if I get one of the first five or six picks, I should keep Crowell, since I would then still be able to draft a top tier WR/RB with my first pick; and that if I pick 7-12, I should keep Brown since most or all of the top tier will likely be unavailable.
Am I looking at this the right way? I'd be interested in some feedback on this. Thanks!
