  1. I would not give 1.7 for Eli. WR depth is too deep.
  2. IMO the bolded area is the issue I disagree with in Dynasty Rankings. BTW, I get just how thankless rankings can be. I use to rank players for a site for years and it is not an easy task by any measure. For the most part I like the rankings around here so please don't take this as jab in any way. I agree with this mindset in redrafts but would contend Dyasty rankings are way more about looking into the future. BTW, I do not rely on rankings sheet other than an ocasional glance to check my mindset so it is not a big deal to me but for the player just starting out in a dynasty if they rely on this thought process then they would take BJGE ranked 26th over Ball 42nd, Bell 43rd, or Gio 46th. Now he is a good player and all but anyone offering this player for a top 4 rookie pick to an experienced owner would get laughed out of the room. Therefore ranking an extreme at risk player 20 spots higher than his likely replacement when no one would make that deal seems a bit of a Dynasty Ranking Reach. Personally, I look to 3 year windows on production going forward. While past results are important, dynasty rankings are all about future prodution potential weighed against currant situation and age. Dynasty rankings in the lower tiers is where it gets difficult but McGahee is a candidate to be released now that Ball is in town so there is no way he should have higher ranking 39 than Ball at 42. We all would draft Ball ahead of him in a Dynasty league. 100 out of 100 times we trade him for him Ball. Therefore Ball should be ranked cosiderably higher even though he hasn't even had a carry yet. Just my two sense on how I view the young guns vs the old guard from a ranking perspective. Key questions about drafting and trading two players of the same position must be answered when ranking Dynasty players. This is how I would set rankings and defend those rankings.
  3. I would probably trade out. However, if not possible then 1.1 is a WR pick IMO. Generral consensus is Austin is the best WR but I like Hunter, Hopkins, and Allen better long term. My take on the RB class is Latavius Murray, Joseph Randle, or C. Michael could be as good or better than any in this draft in a couple of years. ( Just saying they are all close ) I have Bell, Ball and Bernard very close but I guess if I had to go one at #1 and take a RB, I woud probably go Bernard due to long term PPR upside. Situation is not great short term but higher ceiling. I had Bell and Michael rated really good but Bernard is growing on me the more I study him. IDP. I actually have the highest grade on Ziggy and in our scoring system have an 1.1 rookie value on him as an extreme high upside and low risk of a scheme change.'' I agree with Darin on Brown LB but I personally have Cyprien rated much higher as a fantasy safety. Safties are 2nd/3rd round picks though. In other words; I am not much help. It is draft that seems to be full of a lot of very good above average players but no real super stars. The TE I am really high on 2-3 years out is Escobar. He is a late bloomer that will still grow into his frame. Witten is getting old and this kid has huge upside IMO. I am targeting him in all my dynasty leages as a high upside developmental player that could make an impact sooner than later. Kid has a great wingspan, great hands, and above average route running. Future Stud.
  4. Time will tell but this news could be a prelude to come especially given Miami looks to be shifting to a base 3-4 scheme these days. I just don't see them as a 4-3 team any longer. (Rotoworld)Dolphins GM Jeff Ireland said No. 3 overall pick Dion Jordan could end up at linebacker. Analysis: "That's what I like about him," Ireland said. "He's very versatile and he played linebacker [at Oregon] and he also rushed the passer. [When] we get our hands on him, [we will] see where the best place he'll fit. We've got a great vision for him. Part of that's going to be rushing the passer but the other part's up to [coach Joe Philbin]." Jordan will certainly rush the passer plenty, but he's so athletic that he could end up covering tight ends like Rob Gronkowski. (Article Link) I avoided him due to risk in my draft but we are real sticklers for team designations. 3-4 Teams are high risk and we score the positions differently in our league. He went 1.11 and 2.1 in the 14 team team drafts I mentioned earlier. (Risk pushed him down.) He is a significant talent.
  5. Very Nice. I am not buying Dion Jordan as a DE. I project him as a OLB in that scheme. Think KIko has stud potential and like him as #2 on this ranking. I have Minter a bit higher but questions remain if he can really be a 3 down player. Brown has gone top 6 in two drafts with balanced scoring systems so far. 1.5 and 1.6 Kiko went 1.13 and 1.14 in those drafts Minter went 1.14 and I got him at 3.9 in the other. Ziggy went 1.4 in one draft and I got him at 1.8 in the other.
  6. Bell is the RB I would take first in Dynasty drafts. He has 3-down potential. I had him #1 on board for quite a while. I had Michael rated 2nd. He is high risk pick at this point due to landing spot but could be the man there in a couple of years.
  7. I actually thought it was a very bold move. They moved back and got a great pick and they drafted the QB that was number one on thier board. They probably see a skill set potential of a Newton or a Kaepernick. Risking moving back again was simply too great. This draft is long on potential and short on studs. The rookie cap makes the risk much less and this team has been devoid of a QB for a long time. Glad to see a coach that has the stones t get his guy. Obviously, he is well aware of Nassib and also knows he never lost to Smith. They see immense potential and superior athletics that they can develop into a game changer. Thought is was gutsy which is something the Bills havent shown at this position in a long time. Will it work? Time will tell but thier conviction was quite impressive.
  8. This. While that was an impressive display of power by Richardson that is a very dangerous move that can lead to paralysis for Richardson and or a defender. A 20 -30 MPH impact crown to crown can kill a person. The neck is simply not strong enough to absorb certain angle hits. RB's will still get low but eyes up is a safer approach. Yes officials will blow it a few times next season like they did with the defense last year but overall it won't be that big of deal. Intent to cause harm will be in play with this rule. If it gets out of hand then at some point the rules committee may allow for penalties like this to be challenged. After Everett went down, I am surprised it took so long to make all contact of this nature illegal. My youngest sister was the lead O.T. that worked with Everett in his recovery. She deals with head/neck trauma for a living. It is surprising just how little force it really takes to cause life long injury or worse. It is all about angle of impact and crown impacts are extremely dangerous. I get how RB's don't want to lose an advantage but this rule will be called in open space as velocity increases, not on 2 yard dive plays. We will see lots of angry posts as a result in the next few years but this too shall pass. Still 31 to 1 surprised me.
  9. No I didn't miss your post. I just haven't responded yet. Busy day. I look at Peterson and Harvin somewhat exclusively. The real problem long term here is Ponder. The Viking won games because Peterson was in full Beast mode. That will be game planned really hard going forward and even more so now that a significant formidable weapon has been removed. The real issue remains Ponder. When Harvin went down Ponder did not play better, he played much worse. They simply took the ball out of his hands once Harvin went down. He only had two games over 200 yards with his best 235. He had 4 games over 100 yards passing with his best being 174. He had two games under 100 yards passing. 4 of those games he had a rating under under 60. That is terrible. Peterson friggen rocked though and picked up the slack. The Vikings are now without question the most one dimensional team in football. IMO, they will suffer greatly as a result. Ponder is the player that now must improve exponentially and without Harvin his task just became way harder. Which brings me to my point that Peterson must be sick about this trade as he just lost the only other stud quality player regardless of the egos that were in play.
  10. Hahaha! I already did once. I almost tuned to stone. Kid has Medusa Feet!
  11. You missed my point. Peterson is a beast no doubt and dominates with 8 in the box unlike any back in the league. My guess is he will not be happy with constant run blitz's heading his way next season. Teams will sell out going forward stopping Peterson because they just traded their 2nd best offensive player by a mile because they were unable or unwilling to work it out. I certainly understand Harvin is a headcase who was playing with a woefully bad QB and understand them trading him. Problem is he has way more talent than most and his departure will be very difficult to replace. Peterson was a huge fan of Harvin.
  12. The Vikings are idiots. I get Harvin is a Prima Donna and all, many WR's are but he is a top tier talent and they should have paid him. While they got decent value, the odds are long they will get anywhere near the talent of Harvin with those picks. Peterson must be sick with this news. He will be longing for only 8 in the box by mid season.
  13. State Judge Rejects Law. No surprise, http://blogs.wsj.com/law/2013/03/11/state-judge-halts-new-york-city-soda-ban/
  14. While I don't dispute that it is too complicated to look at every 3/4 OLB in the league. Our league scores DE's and LB's differently, skewed to DE so we follow the actual NFL league websites and coaches speak when players are arbitrated. Not always fair for every player but it is more consistent. No doubt it hurts his value a bit but since he didn't file or win any fight with the team or league and the team calls him a LB due to their base 3/4 scheme he is what he is. He certainly isn't the only one. Ware and Spencer for the Cowboys are probably similar but in most leagues they are LB's. 3/4 defenses are not fun at a Commish level so standardizing the rule of positions at least makes it manageable. Same problem with Mario Williams when Houston switched and could be again this year. I certainly see both sides of the argument.
