  1. Hate to see that happen, from purely a human/football fan perspective. He seems like one of the really good guys out there. And, while I don't think Wilson is a cheap shot artist or anything, the NFL probably needs to look at this "hip drop" type of tackle. From a FF perspective, I feel fortunate that I only had two "shares" of Andrews. In one, I have Pitts and Jonnu Smith (not great, but serviceable). In the other, I have Kelce (keeper league with tiered PPR that makes having two top-end TE's pretty valuable). It definitely stings to lose him, but could be worse. As for Burrow, I drafted Purdy as my QB2 in the only league where I have him. So glad I did, or my season would already be over in that league. As it is, I'm hanging on to playoff hopes by a thin thread. At least now I can move Burrow to an IR spot (probably) and use the roster spot elsewhere (super tight rosters with small bench). Looks like it's Purdy or Bust going forward for me in that league.
  2. Updated. Still a couple of pieces left, if somebody needs some RB help or maybe a DEF.
  3. 3 yrs for Brown, please. Cut Donovan Peoples-Jones to make room. Thanks.

  5. For customization, I agree that you can't really beat MFL and all of its options, especially for dynasty leagues. If you want to save information from one season to the next, there is no platform even close to doing what MFL can do. I will say this, though. I've been using MFL for the better part of two decades, and it CAN seem overwhelming at times, just to set up the smallest thing. There are SO MANY options/menus that, if you don't know what you're doing, it's easy to screw up things like waivers settings, blind bidding, or even lineup requirements. Especially when they update their site like they did this year, moving all of their menus/options around. Finding a "League Invoice" to show that your league is paid for used to take about ten seconds. This year, after they moved it for whatever reason, it took me like 10 minutes the first time I tried to find it. If you have a very simple league to set up, MFL might not be for you. Personally, I'd probably still go their direction, simply because it's the best bang for the buck (with various discounts, I can get leagues for around $50/year). The site isn't flashy like ESPN, Yahoo, or others, which matters to some (not so much to me). I'd rather save the $$ on flash and have options, but that's not for everybody. A good example is guillotine leagues. I've done them on guillotineleagues.com, and it's super easy to set up. You really can't mess it up, as the site walks you through everything. Cost was about $55. MFL can do the same thing for around $35-40. That said, for a first-time user, it may not seem as straight-forward as the site that specializes in guillotine leagues. Again, I was able to navigate through it and would prefer to put that extra $15-20 back into the payout pot. But, MFL might not be for everybody, especially for simple leagues. Side note... If you are just looking to start a basic redraft league, another good option is FFPC. I haven't used it for my own leagues (I've just joined a few public ones), but I do like their platform for the most part. And, in my limited experience, their app is far better than the MFL app (but, I tend to just stay away from the MFL app and use the phone version of their website). Just my two cents.

  7. Mostly decided yesterday, but still a few left for tonight.... FFPC 12-team Redraft - I'm down 13 and change, with WR Sutton going against PK Bass. This is one of those crappy situations where the loser of this game is almost undoubtedly going to be the 2nd highest scoring team for the week. I'm at 157 (plus Sutton), the next highest-scoring team is projected to finish at 144. Starting to feel like an every-week situation for me... A loss here would knock me down to 5-5, but I'd still be in either 3rd or 4th place out of 12, depending on points. Dynasty Wars 3 - Up 12, with DE Cooper and S Simmons versus LB Singleton. I SHOULD be OK if all three score anywhere around their "average" week. That said, DL/DB's tend to be a bit more volatile/hit-and-miss, and Singleton has been known to have a monster game now and then. So, not counting my chickens yet, I guess. FDSB Dynasty - Down 11, but I've got Russell Wilson and LB's Dodson and Singleton left. Should be good. Local 12-Team Redraft - Down 26, with Cook and Bass versus Kincaid. This one is old school... No PPR, so I'm going to need a big game from both Cook AND Bass to have any shot. Weapons of DMD 16-Team Redraft - Up 19 and change but facing Diggs. This is modified PPR/yardage-scoring (0.6PPR and 6 pts for every 100 yds), so Diggs would need to have about a 30-pt game (regular PPR) to knock me off. Certainly not impossible. I'm 4-5 after an 0-3 in-division start and scratching/clawing for a wild card spot in this one, so I'll be watching this closely. Huddle Elite 16-Team Redraft - As @darin3 mentioned, I'm up 5 but he's still got Jeudy and BUF. I'm so bad in this league, between injuries (Cousins, Conner, Higgins, Herbert) and just bad picks/busts (Stevenson), I'm chalking this season up as a total loss. Never too late to play spoiler, though, I guess!
  8. Bump/update. Still have some pieces available to help a playoff contender..... RB - Mattison (2), E. Mitchell (2), Montgomery (1), Pierce (5) TE - J Smith (1), L Thomas (1) I also have three defenses in the top 12 (JAC #7, MIN #11, DET #12) if someone needs one for byes or whatever. I also have Nick Chubb (3) on IR, if someone wants to take a chance on stashing him for later. Hit me up... Motivated to move anything listed above.
  9. Hmmmm.... Let's see.... Fusion 16-team Dynasty - I'm up 5 with the NYJ defensive trio of Johnson/Williams/Reed (sounds like a law firm) going against Breece Hall. Should be OK, but you never know. ConFusion 16-team Dynasty - Down 38 with Ekeler against LB Murray. I'm screwed. Dynasty Warz II Dynasty - Up 38 with CB Reed against WR Wilson. Should be good here. FFPC Redraft - Need 13 from Herbert. Really need this one. Like my chances, but who knows. Huddle Elite 16-team Redraft - Need Dicker the Kicker to outscore the Jets D by more than 17. Highly unlikely, especially with the way Staley likes to go for it on 4th down. But there's always a chance, right? 12-team Local Keeper - Kicking myself for picking up Daniel Jones as my bye-week filler. Up 4 with Wilson vs Johnston. Man, feels like this could go either way, for sure. Weapons of DMD 16-team Redraft - Need Greg the Leg to score less than 3. Longshot.
  10. And now it's confirmed that Akers has a ruptured achilles as well. The hits just keep coming.
  11. I was watching with my son and girlfriend, both of which are still trying to figure out all of the rules, etc. I was explaining that, once they lost Cousins, they were left with just a 5th round rookie, so they went out and traded for another QB. So, when Hall got knocked out (literally), they asked who the backup was after Dobbs. I said "That guy who just carried the ball (Akers)." A few minutes later, the announcer said "Akers is now out of the game with an ankle injury." They both look at me with a look of and my son asked "Who's the backup now?" I told him I had no idea.
  12. Personally, in theory, I don't mind having a game on at 6:30 in the morning. I find it enjoyable to have a game on in the background while I go through and set my lineups for the 10 AM games. Of course, with kids/sports and a million other things going on, it's rarely as enjoyable as I would like. I've been coaching fall baseball for the past couple of months, and our games are at 10 AM every Sunday. Whoever made that decision must hate football. So, instead of being enjoyable, my Sunday mornings have been a mad rush of setting lineups/picks, etc. while putting together a baseball lineup, getting my son up/ready for the game, etc. Then, on the field pre-game from 9-10, which is the worst possible time in terms of FF. I'm just glad that yesterday was our last game. In terms of quality of play, I'm not sure. There have been some pretty exciting Europe games over the years. You might be right about quality of play, though. It's definitely hit and miss (yesterday felt like mostly a miss, at least from the MIA side). I'd say Thursday night games are worse, honestly. One thing is for sure about the Europe games, though... they seem to be the most unpredictable games, in most cases. I guess I could take it or leave it. It's a scheduling nightmare, and clearly teams haven't completely figured out how to handle it best travel-wise. And, speaking strictly from a FF logistics perspective, it's just one more time during the week in which lineups/inactives need to be checked, which is a bit of a pain. That said, just in terms of being a fan of football, it's pretty cool to see 45,000 Germans all wearing the jerseys of their favorite teams/players while singing in unison to John Denver. There's definitely a following among European fans, and as long as that's the case, the NFL is going to make their money.
  13. Yeah, I picked them to lose but cover.
  14. Meanwhile, in MIN, they start 0-3 and I haven't heard a single person complain about KOC. I've heard comments about Kwesi (GM) who hasn't exactly lit up the drafts he's been a part of so far. And, of course, everyone has their opinion on Cousins. But, generally speaking, people seem content with the HC. Personally, just from watching/listening to his press conferences and post-game locker room speeches each week, I'm excited about KOC. They could not win another game this year, and I would be excited about what the future holds. And, part of that is the defense with Brian Flores (I hope they can hang on to him for another year or two). But, KOC just seems like a guy who "gets it." Not that he hasn't had some "moments" of his own (I think the clock management could be drastically improved), but overall, I have enjoyed watching him for the past year and a half in MIN. I think they landed a winner.
  15. Matt LaFleur is another "what have you done lately" guy. He was the golden boy of GB in his first three seasons, setting an NFL record by winning 39 regular-season games between 2019 and 2021. Then, they struggled last year, and now with no Rodgers this year, people are calling for his head. So, was he just not as great as everyone thought? Would they be better off bringing in someone brand new? Only time will tell, I guess.
  16. Bottom line... I think a lot of teams (and certainly fan bases) get caught up in the "grass is greener" thinking that they would be better off getting rid of their HC's. Guys like McVay, Tomlin, Harbaugh, Carroll, Payton, Stefanski, and Saleh have all proven that then can win and/or be successful through difficult circumstances. Yet, I've heard comments about every single one of them "needing to go" at one point or another, either this season or last. Which is absurd, for the most part. Because, as history has shown us, there simply aren't that many good/great NFL head coaches out there, so churning through guys who have proven to be better than average just doesn't make sense. Even Arthur Smith, I would say, deserves more time. I hear a lot of people talk about what a terrible HC he is (most of which probably have Bijan on their FF team). But, guess what? He's 4-4, in first place, and as long as he has ATL in the playoff mix, he's not going anywhere. I would even venture to say that he's outperformed expectations so far this year.
  17. In my opinion, teams pull the trigger on firing HC's far too quickly in some cases. Cases where the team is terrible, they bring in a new HC, the team is terrible again, so they fire said HC after one season (or less).... rinse, repeat. What do they expect to happen in those situations? New coaches (first time HC's or not) rarely turn around a team in one season. It's almost unheard of. Even Dan Campbell didn't do it that quickly. Two years ago, many people were calling for his head on a platter. I would imagine that, at this point in time, most DET fans would be happy that didn't happen. If it had, they would almost undoubtedly be stuck in that continuing cycle of churning HC's. This year, I can't help but wonder if that could happen to Frank Reich. He's proven that he can be successful as a HC. At the very least, he doesn't seem to be one of those guys who is in over his head. He has a plan, and he sticks to it. I would hope that they would give him at least two years to make something happen in CAR. And, when I say "make something happen," I'm not talking playoffs. I'm just talking starting to turn the ship in the right direction. Maybe they win 1-2 games this year. Be more competitive next year and win 5-7. That would be a huge accomplishment, IMO. Then, focus on contending for a playoff spot in Year 3, etc. I agree. I'm always amazed at how much the NFL is a "what have you done for me lately" league. A lot of teams would jump at the chance to have a guy like McVay. I think you're probably right about Allen. For every successful coordinator who ends up being a good HC as well, there are probably 2-3 who should just stick to being coordinators. Unfortunately, many times, it seems like we/they don't realize that until they've tried the HC gig and failed, or at least not done as well as maybe expected. The good news is that failed HC's who were good coordinator's almost always get hired immediately somewhere if they want to. And, I don't think Allen has "failed" at this point. But, I could definitely see a scenario where he ends up going back to a coordinator gig somewhere. That is definitely a surprising stat. Then again, they're not really built to come from behind, so it makes sense, I suppose. That said, I still think Shanahan is one of the top coaches in the NFL. But, I do think this brings up another interesting question. How much of his success is due to his brilliant offensive mind/play-calling, versus how much of his success is because he's part of a historically successful franchise who also currently has a really good GM? In other words, should his success be attributed to him, or to John Lynch? A lot of people would say that any decent HC could do what Shanahan has done if you give them the full platter of top notch talented players that SF has on both sides of the ball. I think it's probably a combination of both (Shanny and Lynch), but interesting to think about nonetheless.
  18. He also started a playoff game for TEN on very short notice last year, if I'm not mistaken. I have no idea what he'll bring to MIN, but they had to do something, and they could have done much worse. Oh, and he's very smart. I'll take it. Edit: After reading Steve's post, I remembered that it wasn't a playoff game, but rather a must-win game to get INTO the playoffs. Either way, the kid seems to pick things up quickly, between his stints in TEN and ARI (not to mention the other places he's been).
  19. The defense is playing better than they've played in years. I said before the season began... their best off-season acquisition was Brian Flores. They've gone from last to first in blitz percentage, which makes them night and day different from last year's "sit back and hope" defense. My point is that I don't think they're going to throw in the towel. Whether or not they're going to make a move for another QB, I have no idea. At the very least, they need to sign somebody so they have a backup (with Mullens on IR). But, regardless of what they do at QB, the rest of the squad, from the GM/HC down to every last player, isn't ready to quit. And they have no reason to. No idea how far they can go. But, in watching them the past 2-3 weeks, I'm more impressed with the defense than the offense. And I think they're just starting to gel in this system (and will likely get better). My fear, though, is that the loss of Cousins is just going to be too much. They need JJ back sooner than later. Cousins was playing as well as any QB in the league, and his play was able to "hide" the loss of JJ to some extent. And other guys were stepping up, which is easier to do with a super-accurate QB throwing to them than just a game manager. With a game manager, the big plays to Addison go away, Hock is probably double-teamed more often than not, and the run game will go back to struggling. If all of that happens, it's going to be rough. That's worst case. I'm hopeful the defense can keep them in games, and the offense plays just well enough to win some of these upcoming winnable games. Winnable, at least, on paper (and certainly winnable before Cousins' injury). Should be interesting.
