  1. I think that it has been the most helpful resource in the growth of FF. However I think that it has also contributed to me burning out on FF also. The overload of info/daily hot new flashes/speculation has been a bit much for me. You really have to devote an extreme amount of time to stay on top of things. This is the first offseason since about 1999 that I've been pretty apathetic about FF. This will also be the 3rd consecutive year that I am cutting down on the amount of leagues that I am in. Not to be the old veteran being cynical about everything because for the people new to FF it's still fresh and exciting so enjoy it. But I don't think I will be getting excited about football or FF until around preseason is about over and the real games start..........
  2. Ooooooooooooh SCARRRRYYYYYY! Yeah no more weak shi@te!! Got guts Gators even though I don't know what you're talking about. Well it's the offseason ain't nothing to talk about anyway.............
  3. Yeah best of both worlds...........
  4. I know! That way I can get him on the cheap. He will break out, that's everyone's fear..........
  5. Hitman that is a sick avatar you got there, who is that getting his head taken off.........and what took the ref so long to step in!.............
  6. Stop talking about Lamont Jordan! He will be garbage this season..........
  7. I think everyone is missing the point is that Waterman stated it's not Vicks fault that Price sucks. When your #1 (not #2 or #3 WR Swerski) is not capable of beating man coverage or double teams it affects the production of the offense. Price has evidently shown that he might not be a great or even average WR. Now with Jenkins possibly taking his job we'll see. I think this year Vick should improve more in the passing game and if he doesn't then he should get more criticism. But to expect Vick to be Steve Young after 1 year in the system is dumb. No other words for it. The offensive line is average at best. When people say they had a potent rushing attack why don't you take out Vicks rushing totals and see how potent that attack really was. A 1/3 of their rushing totals was Vick taking off on bootlegs or busted plays not exactly indicative of a top notch O-line. Also I see that a inordianate amount of Packer fans are haters of Vick. I wonder if it's because of that playoff victory in Lambeau. I can't think of one other team that appears to have more members challenging his abilities................
  8. Sure wasn't Vick and isn't that who we're talking about?.............:clever gremlin here:
  9. I guess I'm looking at the question differently because I thought broncosn05 asked who he wanted to build a franchise around. Now how many successful startup franchises started with a QB recently? Lets go with Cleveland, Baltimore, Houston, Carolina and Jacksonville Carolina went with Kerry Collins Cleveland had Tim Couch Baltimore had Vinny Testeverde Houston started with David Carr Jacksonville went with Mark Brunell Now if you just look at the question and not get blinded by Vicks athleticism/below par QB ability and Brady's 3 Super Bowls and playoff cool I think you can make a more rational decision. All of the teams that went with franchise type QB's ie Carolina, Cleveland, Houston and Jax picked QB's who had pretty much the same type talent as Tom Brady. Some had early success, some didn't but it didn't last and only David Carr is still with his original team because they went in another direction to build their team. You can't build a team with an average QB with great intangibles. Look at Baltimore they went with defense and won a Super Bowl with a journeyman QB. As Msaint said it took some other players to make Terry Bradshaw, John Elway, Troy Aikman winners. When you take a QB with your first pick to build a franchise you need someone who can make others better. Brady will need competent WR's, a decent O-line and a solid running game to go along with a solid defense to get his team into the playoff's. Vick will need an avg running game and solid defense to get into the playoff's. These have been shown in the performances. It has been said that Brady didn't lead the Patriots to the playoff's in 2002 because lack of a running game and a poor defensive performance that year. Vick has made it to the playoff's in each year as a full time starter. I don't think people are understanding that starting a franchise you will be talent deficient in comparison to the rest of the league. When you start a franchise you can't build on intangibles, it doesn't work that way..........
  10. I don't think people can separate Brady from the Patriots so it's an unfair question anyway. If Brady was such a good prospect he wouldn't have lasted until the sixth round and been Drew Bledsoes backup. Vick was touted as the #1 pick by all 32 NFL GM's (if their team needed a QB) but I guess Huddlers here know better than people who are paid to make these types of decisions..............
  11. My point is he isn't an afterthought in the passing game. I think some people don't realize what afterthought means.......... And what does "As you do" mean?............
  12. Ha ha good one. And you can add Dan Fouts, Fran Tarkenton, Peyton Manning, etc etc etc.........
  13. People who say they don't want Vick are not looking at his ability to lead a team. You can talk about his passing deficiencies or his athletic ability but the bottom line is winning. This is about if you are a winner or not. In his 2 full seasons as the Falcons starting QB (2002 and 2004) the Falcons are 20-11-1. Both times they made the playoff's. After the Falcons Super Bowl year in 98 until 2002 their record was 16-32. The year that Vick was hurt the Falcons went 5-11 with 3 of those wins coming when Vick came back at the end of the year. The next year the Falcons are 11-5. Must be coincidence. He has taken the Falcons to the playoff's and the NFC championship game. He's already shown more potential than many of the other #1 QB's picks like Tim Couch, Eli Manning, Carson Palmer, David Carr. Whether everyone agree's or not his name is mentioned as a MVP canidate and one of the best players in the game. But you know I really don't think there will be any debate as his career goes along. He's going to keep winning and I think he has a very good chance to win a Super Bowl. When you win you can brush the haters off anyway..........
