  1. My main league we started about 25 years ago had a few people move out of town but they still wanted to be in the league. Still did a live draft for those in town and those remote made their picks on line. We projected the draft room from the website on a wall for those live. This worked for a few years but more and more couldn't make it to the live draft, so we went remote. Worst thing we did in my opinion, that was the fun part of the league. I've finally retired from running that league and if I start another it will be a live draft only, if you can't make it don't join or send someone to draft for you. I know that will make it tough to keep folks, but hopefully can find 10 or 12 serious enough players to do it.
  2. So glad this season is finally over. So the guy who picked up Mike Williams in our league wins the championship because of this. Williams outscored his replacement WR by 5 points and he wins the game by 3. Couldn't have turned into a worse outcome in this league. I'll let those two guys hash this out amongst themselves, not many kind words between them on the message board, lol Congratulations to everyone who brought home the trophy this year.
  3. So in our league just another reason why I've given up on FF next year at least until this Covid crap is done (a totally different discussion on whether this will ever be allowed to happen). So a team in the semi finals had both Allen Robinson and Mike Williams out last week. As Williams was unvaxxed and had to be out for 10 days he was dropped to pick up another WR. Per the NFL protocols he could not come back until week 18 (our season ends week 17). Now this week the NFL changes the rules and the guy who dropped him wasn't able to get him back on waivers. This team is in the thick of still getting some.money back for total points and not real happy. Can't say I blame him one bit, just continuing the NFL $#&+show this year. Good luck to all still playing for something this week.
  4. This, there is only so much "depth" left on the waiver wire. When I am left to choose from one of the MIA running backs not named Gaskin as an option for this week doesn't leave me feeling very good about my chances. We have adjustments in place to cover this so no one gets a zero over a COVID issue but just saying draft better or draft for more depth doesn't fix all the issues.
  5. And the cluster.... we were expecting finally hit. Now hopefully they will get most of the guys on the COVID list cleared
  6. I agree there has always been an element of luck to win a championship, but to me it stops being fun when the skill element is essentially removed. Probably why I don't enjoy just sitting and playing slots at a Casino and would rather play blackjack. I like to believe my skill comes into play. This situation in the last week or two will randomly change the outcome of too many games to make me believe fantasy football is nothing more than a pure game of chance. Just my opinion.
  7. Makes you wonder when the league finally says uncle and cancels or delays some games for a week
  8. As if it couldn't get any better for players being out this week. This is truly turning into a really bad joke for week 15 with the Covid situation and season ending surgeries.
  9. Seems illogical to me too, but guessing because they can get and transmit it just the folks not vaccinated.
  10. If we get to choose like the Champ suggested I go with Cousins and Amari Cooper
  11. Maybe we can Josh Allen and Diggs on the list too so I can have them go hang out with D Henderson and Waddle on my bench. This is turning into a cluster .... real quick
  12. We do the same thing, but the player has to be questionable or doubtful to post a backup. We have also allowed this players on the Covid list for this season. Problem with this last Monday was Higbee wasn't on the injury report all week and then got put on the Covid list on Monday. The owner was screwed in this case. Like Steve stated all these extra rules can make for a real PIA for the commish. Luckily the one league I commish has a good bunch of guys in it so no issues so far.
  13. I just saw Higbee missed the game last night due to a false positive. First time I've seen a player miss a game like that. We knew it was bound to happen sooner or later though
  14. Yea, I've been worried about some type of outbreak all year happening. Hopefully none of these are serious cases. In the one league I commish we set up some basic rules to try and cover this, especially with what happened with Higbee last night, the other TE on that teams roster was on a bye (H. Henry). I am really hoping to not have to screw with this during our playoffs.
  15. I'd put in my best lineup and let things shake out how they will. Even if you get the matchup you want in the first round there is no way to predict your opponents WR3 won't go for 130 yards and 2 TD just because you got to play him on that fluke week. Personally I'd much rather get the matchup on how the seedings work out than try to pick my matchup only to get bounced in the first round on a fluke player going off and seeing I would have won the matchup I should have had if I didn't pull something like this. Is it "unethical", probably depends on your league rules and if you trying to play a loophole in them. I wouldn't do it just because it looks bad IMO.
