  1. Hot Rumor - The NFL will allow the players to burn flags, but they may be penalized 15 yards for using a prop in their celebration. Thoughts?
  2. At this point I think I need to ask myself, is there any reason to keep reminding myself and everyone else how much I suck at this year after year? I mean, I think I have proven my point by now. Its time to bow out with the shred of dignity I have left, which is the fact that I have never actually finished last. I'm going to K-Mart in the morning to buy my own damn tube socks. I quit!!!
  3. The reason the Rams are moving is because this dude threw a pile of money at the league they couldn't refuse. Jerry Jones, who all the owners trust in matters of high finance, had the owners so riled up over the potential profits from Jerry-World West, they had to send out for 30 pairs of new pants by the time they cast their votes. The owners that are good owners (few left it seems) don't care that the owner of the new LA franchise is clueless in football operations. When you are made of solid gold, nobody cares if you smell like dung.
  4. I grew up in STL, still have friends and family there, and I renounced my Chiefs citizenship at 1-5. I basically turned the franchise around by getting off the bandwagon.
  5. Yes, this is about building an entertainment mecca. The owner knows and cares little about football. He is a businessman in a very lucrative business. He will make money on this and so will all the owners and they will all be very happy. The game is secondary, and will be from this point on.
  6. All true. But you only lost your team once. So far.....
  7. Yes, and as a matter of fact, the last time I even tried to DEPOSIT in fanduel they demanded this information, even though I had previously given it to them. I told them, through email, that they had it once, and that was the only time they were going to get it. This is all a result of government intervention, their plan to tear down the industry is well underway. Close off half the players and annoy the living crap out of the ones that remain. Bingo.
  8. "This is not just the bitter sentiment" was what I thought I typed, sorry.
  9. Bitter and angry are two different things. It is pointless to be angry with the powers that be and their folly, but bitterness over the game I love being systematically brought down with it is perfectly natural.
  10. Another block in the wall of failure the NFL is currently building. No, this is not the the bitter sentiment of a man that grew up in St Louis, lived through the indignation of having the team I grew up with ripped away. I stand back and look at this situation and laugh. The Rams came here because they were not being supported in LA. And the fact that at the time the owner received the most lucrative "moving" deal in NFL history. While the Rams never really budged the city from its baseball and hockey preference, they were supported. From the dark days of Tony Banks, through the Greatest Show on Turf, and back to the 16-56 team they have become. (Not sure about those stats but it is right in that neighborhood) I'm just trying to figure out how this pathetic excuse for a professional football franchise expects to catch the hearts and minds of a city with more entertainment options than any other in the Unites States. If this turd didn't play in STL, it is going to bomb in La La land. But the owner doesn't think so. He is one shrewd SOB. He is going to build and entertainment mecca, probably to rival Jerry-world. And he will bank, like Jerry, that no matter what a piece of crap his team may be. He will be able to pick the pockets of the west coast elite for the luxury boxes. And along with the television money, maybe he makes it just like he is planning. Greed is eating the game. I may be just a dumb mid-west bumpkin. But to me this is the biggest loser of a plan the NFL has ever concocted, I say good riddance, and I anxiously await the failure, and subsequent moving of the franchise to London, which will signify the actual end of the NFL as a viable entity. Over the last few years I have transformed from rabid fan to casual observer, and I am not alone. You stupid bastards just go ahead and move your piles of money around, further confuse the rules, and try to figure out where your next generation of players is coming from, now that the game has been deemed deadly, and off soccer mom;s list. I'm not really angry. This is what happens to everything that is successful in America. It is eaten alive with greed. It is doomed.
  11. All this conversation behind the backdrop of a nation who has wagered close to 2 billion dollars on a powerball ticket for tomorrow. I'm glad Big Brother is looking out for us for sure. God Bless America.
  12. Well, if Draftkings and Fanduel is gambling and should be regulated as such, I fail to see why ALL fantasy games do not fall under the same umbrella, therefore the same scrutiny.
  13. The algorithms should not really be a surprise to experienced players. I played in a keeper and dynasty leagues for years. There were different champions, but for the most part, you had the same group of guys in contention most of the time. This is the same thing on a larger scale. I think a lot of people that have played the games with no success, are probably playing the huge contests with thousands of entrants. The larger the pool, the higher the winning scores will be. In these cases, the contests DO become lottery-like, and as such, a horrible proposition. Especially for the uninitiated. The stats cited for winners is not a surprise at all to me. As a matter of fact, if the net winners stat was higher than it is, one could conclude that it actually IS a game of chance. We all know that is simply not true. I will grant you, the commercials they blasted endlessly last year would lead you to believe that it is easy to win, and everybody can win, yada yada yada. A little disingenuous to be sure. But if we strung up every entity that spewed BS in their advertising, the free enterprise system would collapse in short order. I do not know the individuals that run the companies. I cannot say with certainty that everything is above board, and the contests are 100% clear of any nefarious activity. But I want proof that there was a crime committed before we destroy them. I'll be waiting.....
  14. I will take the claims from the attorney general under advisement. As for the net loser statistic. How does the net loser statistic look on state sponsored lotteries which have been systematically raping the underclass for decades now? There is no outrage on the government screwing over Joe Blow. None of this information you cite, proves anything. As a matter of fact, it once again helps prove the point The best players win the money. But there will be nobody to defend these companies in a public forum like this, because as the stats bear out, 9 out of 10 of you are losers, and are probably under the delusion that the attorney general of NY should be retrieving all the money you lost in the contests. I have yet to see evidence that these companies did anything illegal, and I think it is deplorable what they are doing to them. Free enterprise under attack. Go commies go.
  15. Fair enough. Okay then. As a fantasy football player, I am personally insulted that the NY attorney general thinks my 70 year old father, who rarely watches an NFL game, has an equal chance as me to win a fantasy contest. Because that in effect is what they are claiming. Anybody on-board with being offended?
