Chavez
He's an elite back, but face it - LSU was FOUR deep at the position; now they're down to 3 big-time talents.
GWPFFL BrianW
Hope it doesn't end up like the situation Iowa had to deal with last year, where all 4 of them go down.
Coffeeman
Hope it doesn't end up like the situation Iowa had to deal with last year, where all 4 of them go down. 927767[/snapback] Ouch, I didn't realize that happened to you guys last year. If Bush, White and Reed all went down for USC, I'd be pretty bummed for them individually and for the team. Bush in particular would miss out on a lot of $$ in the draft next year. But I don't think that's going to happen; since none of those 3 take that many snaps, the injury risk is somewhat reduced. Article in today's LA Times showed how Bush + White's combined stats last year were almost exactly the same as Brown + Williams of Auburn. And we know Ronnie & Cadillac both had a nice payday this year...
skins
LSU is deep deep deep. That is the greatest thing Saban did for the program--revamped recruiting so that top talent came in every year to fight for the starting spots. He really was a great coach off the field also. piratesownninjas
I don't think they'll skip a beat... Way too much depth.
Deacon Frost
Hugh plays for LSU?!?!? ...and still finds time to post fantasty advice...amazing!
GWPFFL BrianW
Yeah, Jermelle Lewis, Marcus Schnoor, Albert Young, and Marques Simmons all went down to injuries. Lewis, Schnoor, and Young all tore acls and were out for the year, Simmons came back for the Wisconsin and LSU games. You can clearly see why we were one of the worst rushing teams in the nation. Cuz Lewis was good, I think he woulda got some looks from NFL teams if he had played a full year, strong and fast, and can catch out of the back field. Thank god we found that Drew Tate fella last year, cuz if we still had Nathan Chandler, we win 3 games max. That's how important Tate was last year to Iowa. lynch
It doesn't matter how good the talent is there in the bayou, you brought in Les "Up The Middle" Miles to coach this group. He has never finished a season as a head coach with less than 4 losses. He is not a great coach. He took some really good talent at Ok. State and turned it into a just better than .500 ball club. Maybe he will be better at LSU, but I doubt it.
GWPFFL BrianW
Well, thats what they said about Nick Saban. "6-5 Nick" is what some folks in Michigan called him. All he's done since then is win 2 SEC Championships and 1 National Championship, and is now the head coach of the Miami Dolphins. So while I agree, I don't think Les Miles is as good of a coach as Saban, you never can tell. Miles is coming from a state where they play second fiddle to the Sooners, the same way Saban came from East Lansing where they play second fiddle to Michigan (sorry spartan fans).
