New rhino spreadsheet

I think I have made something like this available before. However, it's been heavily updated. Feel free to download the Player Matchups 2005.xls file, and have fun. Here's some notes about it...

1. It's much smaller than the WTD Avg Projections spreadsheet.

2. Contains no macros, even though it will prompt you to "disable" or "enable" macros when you open up the spreadsheet. Feel free to "disable".

3. Tab 1 = NFL Schedule 2005 (data shouldn't need updating)

4. Tab 2 = NFL Byes (data shouldn't need updating)

5. Tab 3 = Defense Allows (data needs your input)

6. Tab 4 = Player Matchups (look at those colors!)

How to Use

a. Tab 3 (Defense Allows) requires your input. This one tab contains YOUR projected stats of what each defense will give up, per game, for each position. This follows the Huddle's format, and this tab is pre-loaded with the 2004 season-ending statistics. This includes cells C19:V50.

b. Tab 3 (Defense Allows) also requires your input for your league scoring rules. There is space to accommodate up to 8 different leagues. I have left my 2004 leagues in there for an example. This includes celss X1:CH17.

c. Tab 3 (Defense Allows) will automatically compute what each defense gives up, FF POINT-WISE, per game, per position, per your league scoring rules.

d. Now that you have the parameters set up (defensive projections for 2005; leagues' scoring rules), you're ready to go to Tab 4 (Player Matchups) and use this tool to help build your FF team.

e. On Tab 4 (Player Matchups), cell A1, enter the league name in which you're wanting to use (must match a league name entered on Tab 3, row A). This will incorporate that league's scoring rules.

f. On Tab 4 (Player Matchups), enter YOUR definitions of an "EASY" team and a "HARD" team. It is currently pre-loaded as an EASY team being one that is ranked 22-32, and a HARD team being one that is ranked 1-10.

g. On Tab 4 (Player Matchups), enter a particular player and his team to view his schedule, see overall rating, and specific ratings. (The output is generated from the player's TEAM, not the player itself. For example: Entering Daunte Culpepper will not generate any results. Entering "MIN" for the "team" will generate the desired results.)

h. On Tab 4 (Player Matchups) all input fields are indicated by the pale yellow shade. This is OPPOSITE of Tab 3 (Defense Allows), where the pale yellow shade indicates a computed field. Sorry for the inconsistency.

Description of results

a. Red shade indicates a tough matchup.

b. Green shade indicates an easy matchup.

c. White shade indicates a so-so matchup.

d. Black shade indicates a bye.

e. Opponent in green font indicates HOME game.

f. Opponent in red font indicates ROAD game.

g. Opponent in black font indicates BYE week.

h. Overview section (columns I-Y) show opponents, matchup rank.

i. Details section (columns Z-BG) show opponents, matchup rank, and matchup pts allowed.

That should do it. Enjoy! And feedback is always welcomed!
