PaulOttCarruth
Sorry if this has been posted. Didn't see it anywhere. From the Denver Post Eagles call about Dayne According to an NFL source, the Philadlephia Eagles called the Broncos to inquire about running back Ron Dayne. The Broncos showed no interest in dealing Dayne, who is expected to be a backup tailback. Eagles offensive coordinator Brad Childress was an assistant at Wisconsin when Dayne starred there. Dayne has excelled since signing with Denver in April. The 1999 Heisman Trophy winner has played well in training camp and in the preseason. "Ron is very happy in Denver," said his agent, Vann McElroy. "He loves it there." In an unrelated inquiry, a league source said New England recently contacted the Broncos about reserve quarterback Rohan Davey, whom the Pats are shopping. The Broncos don't have any interest in him for now.
