matt770
I see these guys available in my league. Should I grab one or stick it out with Grant & Peppers? Which DL would you drop? Robert Mathis, Indy -- 6 sacks already. At least one per game thus far, plus 16 tackles and 3 forced fumbles. Orpheus Roye, Cle -- Has also been solid with 26 tackles thru 4 games. Those are the 2 that jump out at me. These are also available: J. Reed (NYJ - DL) K. Edwards (DET - DL) J. Smith (CIN - DL) M. Reagor (IND - DL) J. Allen (KC - DL) C. Griffin (WAS - DL) A. Odom (TEN - DL) L. Tripplett (IND - DL) Thanks! Matt

Matt 1060823[/snapback] I am a huge Roye fan, start him occasionally in two 16 team leagues, but no way do i give up on Peppers or Grant after 5 weeks ... Chavez
I'm waiting for Peppers to break through and then I'm going to dangle him as tradebait, but I don't have a DL requirement in my IDP league.
Wild Wombat
In my experience DLs are much streakier than DBs or espcially LBs. They can be totally shut-down by a double team because it is difficult for them to avoid them. However, they can have monster games where they get 3 or 4 sacks. LBs, especially MLBs have the ball carrier funneled to them, so are much steadier producers. You can try to play matchups with defensive ends where you see that a team has a weak offensive tackle, but then the tackle will get alot of help from the TE or even a RB. Of course, the great DEs just fight through double teams. IMO Peppers is just having to re-adjust to playing without Jenkins again. He is too good to not break out. Grant... well, it seems like the Saints are really imploding. But without knowing who is on your waiver wire, it is difficult to recommend dropping either of them. Just my two cents... one confused IDP player to another, as it were.
suburban_pimp
at this point I would say that Mathis is an upgrade over Grant - and maybe even Peppers. Mathis plays on a dominating Pass Defense:Peppers on a suddenly laughable unit that can't get to the QB without a blitz. Grant is running too hot and cold right now to consider a viable option.
