Lucky Jack Posted October 13, 2005 Share Posted October 13, 2005 This is a confusing situation...and some of us are desperate enough...that a starting RB CAN make a difference...what we know: 1) the Saints picked up Smith as insurance for just this situation (hypothesis)... 2) Most of the "experts" think Smith has the inside track... 3) the Saints "official" depth chart says Stecker is the #1 Back... 4) Stecker replaced McAllister last year and was "decent"... 5) Saints grab journeyman (recently) Jesse Chatman...a human bowling ball... 6) Chatman looked good in SD as LT2's "let me rest friend"... 7) Emerging concensus (?) Chatman is the longer term answer... 8) Yet a bunch of team passed on Chatman before the Fins picked him up... I'll bet the concensus of the Huddler's on this site...will be the right call...
