more like a complete brain fart by Minnesota to lose, but hey thats Big Ten Football this year. A W is A W anyway you slice it but still should have been over all they really had to do was get the punt off. Wisconsin made the comeback and earned the win don't get me wrong but that's just poor execution by the Gophers I know that ones gotta hurt.

:D ....the "other" UM did the same thing.

The Badgers are now 6-1 with their only loss coming by 3 points. I SHOULD be more than happy with things as is - NOBODY expected UW to be this good with all the talent they lost to graduation.

But a little voice in the back of my head keeps whispering "Roooose Bowl, Rooooose Bowl...."

Like that's gonna happen.

Thoroughly outplayed Minnesota today for the win!  :D

When you give up 400 yds rushing, you've got NO business even being close to the other team, much less winning....

I'm lovin' it, but I'm a little concerned about Beilema's D getting slapped around for the 2nd straight week. Troubling.

They're in the 20s right now, they might jump into the mid-teens; unfortunately, I think this win is gonna be labeled a "fluke" and they won't get the jump they otherwise might. Even if they do win out, there are just too many teams they'd have to pass to give them a shot.

Plus the way Bielema's D is hemorrhaging yds, it just doesn't look championship caliber. Granted, NU and UM have pretty good offenses, but still....

Rose Bowl is the National Title Game this year. I know we won't be playing in that, but I'll take the Big Ten's BCS bid...

I would be surprised if Wisconsin moves up any farther than the high teens, and that's if some of the other teams ahead of them lose this week. Their defense was dominated by a offense with a rookie QB getting his first start. I'm sorry, but I didn't expect Maroney and Russell to run all over them, especially when I heard Cupito was out. The fact that Wisconsin wasn't able to slow them down and force the rookie to make some big plays throwing the ball boggles my mind. Penn State proved how vulnerable Minnesota is if you stop their run game, so it definitely can be done.

That said, Minnesota is a very unpredictable team that plays much better at home than on the road, historically. (Although they have had a couple of HUGH wins on the road in the past few years.)

I am biased, of course, but I thought Minnesota clearly dominated the game for 59.5 minutes. Their only downfall was that, any time the Badgers needed a big play, Minnesota couldn't stop Williams to save their lives. Their defense seems much improved at times (they actually pressure the opposing team's QB occasionally, as opposed to the last ten years), but they still can't stop the big plays in the 4th quarter to finish a team off.

Just my thoughts on the game..... Hope I don't sound too bitter or like a sore loser. It was a classic game between the two teams with the longest rivalry in college football. I am now going to try figure out a way to forget this day ever happened. I was hoping an Irish win might soften the sting of the Gophers' choke, but now I am forced with only one decision....... Beer, tequila, or whiskey. It's going to have to come down to one of the latter two. Not enough beer in my house to make me forget today. :D:D:D:D:D:D

Another solid win.

The way the D is giving up yds, if not always points, WILL come back to bite them in the ass. They ought to be able to handle a no-hope Illinois team, but the two games after that - @ Penn State and Iowa at Camp Randall - could very well end up in the L column. The season finale @ Hawaii is probably going to be a track meet that the Badgers SHOULD win just due to better talent, but I'm not taking it for granted that they will.

Penn State played a very good game, and they just looked better than the Badgers. Hats off to JoePa and the Nits.

Got a ticket for Saturday's game :D ; hopefully the Badgers give  Coach Alvarez the best last home game gift ever - a win over the Hawkeyes.

Well, that fell a bit flat. Kudos to an outstanding Iowa defensive effort, making sure the Wisconsin D were on the field way too often and too long.

I just want to say kudos to Barry Alvarez. Former coordinator at Iowa, so I have nothing but good feelings towards him. A remarkable coach who turned a program around that was in the $hitter, much like his mentor, Hayden Fry did years before. Although it may not have been the perfect send off for him (thank god it wasn't) I truly hope that Barry felt that warm feeling inside in Camp Randall last evening, cuz there aren't too many other coaches who deserve as much respect as Barry does.

Hat off to Iowa - I was tailgating a bit prior to the game, so my memory is a tad fuzzy, but IIRC the Badgers screwed up on 3 big-gainer pass plays (2 drops, one underthrow), 2 of which would have been tds; the drops caused a result of 0 points on those drives; they aren't that much better than Iowa if at all, you can't afford to miss opportunities like that. Shame Alvarez' last game was a turd like that.
