AGAIN!! 1164661[/snapback] I do so love the absolutes that come out on this board. No USC is not over rated, they are clearly a top 5 team, and deserve to be #1 until they lose. The Rose Bowl will determine if they are #1 this year. However, I have no idea how anyone can say that they are clearly the best team in College Football, when you look at their defense. The highest team defense ranking that USC has is 24 (run defense), and they are ranked 32 & 43 in scoring defense and total defense. While Texas's lowest team defense ranking is 20 (run defense) and they are ranked 5 & 6 in scoring defense and total defense. Now let’s look at the USC offense. Yes they are #1 in total offense (yards gained), and who is #2, right Texas. However, USC is #2 in points scored; care to guess who #1 is? You got it, Texas. Last time I checked, the objective of this game was to score more points than your opponent, not gain more yards. Texas & LSU, Auburn, Penn St. - they all look pretty good too. Until there is a playoff, we'll only have opinions to make this claim... I apologize for his youthful exuberance...
