Azazello1313
i've been on this major dopplebock kick lately (for you troglodytes, that's a german beer style meaning 'double malt'...a style historically associated with religious contemplation, characterized by huge malt flavors and lots of calories) within the last month or two i've been drinking prodigiously from all the heavy hitters....paulaner's salvator, spaten's optimator, ayinger's celebrator, weihenstephaner's korbinian. this has become my favorite beer style...so f'n delicious. they're all great, but the paulaner salvator is really a favorite beer for me....and at 6 or 7 bucks for a 6-pack it's one of the best beer buys around IMO. but my favorite of all is the probably one i'm drinking now...a weizen (wheat) dopplebock called aventinus. it's got all the best characteristics of a dunkel weizen AND a dopplebock. my taste buds are in heaven. keep an eye out for it at your favorite liquor store...you'll find it in the 500ml singles, with a purple label. I enjoy the Aventinus, great beer... my kids must have 100 of the little goats from Ayinger around the house! Davidson's had it on sale! Rovers
My kingdom for Chester's beer cellar stock! Dopples are good. I tend to go through cycles... malty, hoppy, pilsners, porters, stouts. Chester, you can keep the barley wines, just let me hijack the rest!
