Seattle LawDawg
Wine Spectator should be releasing its annual top 100 list shortly. The list typically includes some great wines and makes you scratch your head with other choices. Nonetheless, any predictions as to what will make the list this year? I hope its not already out. That would make this thread completely pointless. I'll go out on a limb and say that the Eroica will make the list for the 4th straight year. Others: 02 Lewis Cab (Napa): Fantastic cab, highly rated. 01 Chateau d'Yquem: no brainer St. Jean Cinq Cepages will make its return to the list. A bunch of German Rieslings. I think WS rated it at 96. That should easily crack the top 100.

I don't know that this is the official list but various message boards are reporting the top 10 as: #10 D'Yquem 2001 #9 Staglin Cabernet 20th Anniversary 2002 #8 Banfi Brunello Poggio all'Oro Riserva 2001 #7 Lewis Cabernet Sauvignon 2002 #6 Alban Syrah Reva 2003 #5 Sette Ponti Toscana Oreno 2003 #4 Concha y Toro Don Melchor 2001 #3 Rosenblum Zinfandel Rockpile Rd 2003 #2 Clos Des Papes Chateauneuf du Pape 2003 #1 Jospeh Phelps Insignia 2002 Edited November 23, 2005 by Seattle LawDawg

As soon as this gets out you will see prices go through the roof!

I won it as a fish bowl prize at the Pershing Conference a year and a half ago down in West Palm Beach. I was gonna ask Thomas if the stuff was any good. I'll have to check to see if it is Insignia. KICK A$$ BLASTER
I picked up a bottle of the Insignia from the Wine Club. They had had the best price that I found with my short search. Anyway, I'm sure that I will have to wait a few years to truly enjoy this wine but it will be worth the wait....
sundaynfl
Do you have the rest of the list? 1170362 They released the top ten as a teaser... so we can "enjoy" it during Thanksgiving. I think the rest of the list will be released next week.

twiley
Do you have the rest of the list? 1170362 It'll be released on the 28th. I picked up the Insignia last night for $120. F'n wine guy jacked up the price as soon as people started calling in asking for it. I was talking to him and he says, "why is everyone calling about this?" I tell him because WS rated it #1 and he just smiled and told me he figured it had to be something so he raised the price.

Hugh B Tool
F'n wine snobs, then again judging from a so called esquire from UDUB and the Seattle rest. list they put forth I'm not surprised I would much rather sip high quality Covas or Tequila and hold the glass with all my fingers and look for legs on women. Now go snort a cork

Naming two of the top ten wasn't bad... :patsselfonback: I would recommend an 89 Mouton Rothschild with the Tool's Cheeseburger....
