georgemoe
Sounds odd but it is actually very good. A place north of me in Cape Neddick, ME got me hooked on it. Flo's Dogs. The place is an institution. They have a special homemade onion relish that goes great with the mayo. Maybe some of my fellow New England Huddlers have heard or been to Flo's. Azazello1313
i went to a belgian restaurant once and the big thing to eat was a bucket of mussels (which...eh...alright but still kinda disgusting) and french fries....with mayo. the beer at that place made up for it though
Jimmy Neutron
As a kid I used to eat cold hot dogs out of the package dunked in Miracle Whip. I nearly thinking of that now.

Some think celery salt and sport peppers are optionsl. i disagree.

Swampnuts
I've become addicted to the Woeber's Horseradish sauce that comes in the squeeze bottle. I've had it with ketchup/mustard on burgers and with mustard on dogs. Good with both IMO, gives a good bite.

Rovers
A big Canadian tradition is cole slaw on dogs, and it's derned good. I still put mustard on it, but a good home made slaw (hand cut cabbage) on a dog is great. Just plain mayo doesn;t tickle my taste buds though. aqualung
Sauce and onions for me. I put mayo on bologna sandwiches so mayo on a hot dog would be the same thing.

Rovers
Homemade kraut? I looked into that... it doesn't sound all that easy to do. A bit like brewing beer, sanitation to avoid infections while it ferments was what scared me off.

Just like other canning jobs its just so much easier to just go buy it. But no anywhere near as good. When I was a freshman in HS. I had the job of cutting the cabbage using a cubashi. (a triple blade framed in wood with another wood frame on top where the cabbage sets). Well dumb ole me wasn't paying attention BSing with my brother and wop! There goes the end of my finger. While the end of the finger without blood in it mixed with the cabbage could not be found. ( in was in a 20 gal crock) Dad said the hell with it and they finished the job. He always said it was the best sauerkrat he had ever made. Plus I had typewriting class that year and the teacher wasn't sympathic to my plight. Bastage! Big Country
You think mayo on a hot dog is funky and ketchup sucks. my wife's entire family puts ketchup on their tacos and burritos if we have a Mexican dinner. My brother-in-law and I argue that if such items were meant ot be eaten with ketchup, Taco bell would have ketchup packets and not hot sauce packets. Ziachild007
My wife and daughter both eat mayo on their dogs, but just the thought of it is pretty to me. I like mine with chili, cheese, mustard and raw onions. My father-in-law owns Hot Dog Express, a local hot dog joint (used to be Der Weinerschneitzel) and they have all sorts of different dogs you can order. My favorite is the Polish chili cheese, which is a regular dog, except a Polish sausage is substituted instead of the reular wiener. Put some fresh ground black pepper on the ketchup. Mmmmmmmmmmmmmm!A little tobasco isn't bad either. 1177941[/snapback] No other way to eat fries, is there?

Tastes excellent. At this point in my life, it appears to be a little to much work. (especially when I can pinch some from them. )
