General Itals
Everybody agrees that fresh cracked peppercorns are superior to the McCormick's ground crap. However, does anybody have a favorite brand? I have to believe there is something better than the dried Athenae that I buy at the supermarket. Some help, please? Rovers
Actaully, the McCormack whole pepper corns are pretty good, and i don't have any brand preference when it comes to whole peppercorns.... they all seem pretty much the same to me. The odd ball peppercorns are a different story, from white to assorted. All pre ground pepper sucks. I have found that buying bulk peppercorns is a good way to go.... as long as they are whole, they keep pretty well. I also use sea salt in a grinder.... also much better than regular processed salts. twiley
I get most of my spices from Penzeys. They have an assortment of peppercorns,
aqualung
We usually get a generic brand from the local Italilan deli. It comes in a quart container.
