twiley
50% Grenache 40% Shiraz 10% Mourvedre Dark ruby color with a peppery earthy nose. Picked up hints of anise as well. Generous amounts of dark cherry and blackberry upfront. Nice linger of pepper with a smooth velvet finish. $25 Pick it up next time you're out. KICK A$$ BLASTER
I may have mentioned this already but there is another Aussie wine called "The Stump Jump" by d'Arenberg that has the same grapes. It runs around $10-$15, and is a very nice wine... Wine Link... These guys make some very nice wines...Definitely worth checking out.. twiley
yep, both that and the "Stump Jump" are good (and relatively inexpensive) 1205834[/snapback] From Parker: The red wine value 2004 The Stump Jump Grenache/Shiraz/Mourvedre is the Australian version of a French Cotes du Rhone. Cherry, spice box, earth, pepper, and herb characteristics emerge from this medium-bodied, drinkable wine that is meant to be consumed during its first 1-2 years of life.
