Same to you (and to everyone else).

Since this is the food forum, I'll mention that my wife and I are hosting another Swiss couple over for dinner tonight and we are having "fondue chinoise" (which is basically like a Chinese "hot pot" dish where you boil thinly sliced meats (in our case, turkey, pork tenderloin, and centercut beef tenderloin) in a broth at the table in a fondue pot and then serve with various sauces). It's the first time we've had it in America but its starting to become a traditional Christmas dinner in Switzerland.

(The couple we are hosting is bringing the wine for the meal, I wonder what we'll have.)

Speaking of Viader... I may still be able to get this years release of Viader out of their wine library. As most of you know, their inventory of .750's was caught in a massive warehouse fire that destroyed all fo their 750's. LEt me know if you want any, and I will try to get it for you if I can! Mostly 1.5 's and higher volume bottles!

Happy Holidays!!!!

Here was my Christmas list which I shared with my step-son - we both weren't feeling too much pain by the end of the evening!

Winery: Niebaum-Coppola

Wine: 1992 Rubicon Rutherford

Score: 92

Distinctly minty, firm and austere, slowly evolving into a more supple and flavorful wine, with a core of currant and berry. A ruggedly tannic young wine, it will need cellaring until 2002. 2,956 cases made. (JL)

Winery: Concha y Toro

Wine: 2003 Cabernet Sauvignon Puente Alto Marqués de Casa Concha

Score: 91 Smart Buys

Very solid, with ripe cassis, blackberry and boysenberry fruit offset by vanilla, mineral and cocoa notes. Shows a loamy undertow, but stays fresh and focused through the finish. This has a great track record of value. Drink now through 2007. 23,800 cases imported. (JM)

Winery: Fonseca

Wine: 1983 Vintage Port

Score: 90

This is a rough-and-tough wine for laying away. Deep, dark purple-ruby, with an intense, ripe raisin and mint nose, full-bodied, with raisin flavors, full tannins and a long finish. (JS)

Hope every one had a Merry and is going to have a Happy! :D
