Where is John Galt

Lets set the record straight on that. First off in case you Oprahers forgot, most of you wanted me gone during the season, as I stirred your feathers more than anyone else here. Then when I honor that, you rip me for it. I gave SC props after the loss, and was around all year as many of you saw me lurking and I wanted to post many times when I read the BS from that cumguzzler John Galt. So brian, feel free to dish it, even though you cant take it for Athena. See Iowa sucks and will always suck, yet you feel the need to talk Athena. Its like a Arz Cardinal fan running his mouth, rather hilarious if you ask me.

Now, I learned my lesson and win or lose from now on, I aint leaving the forum on my own again. John is a F'n liar, as he ran his mouth over and over and over, but so did I about my Sooners. At least when OU lost I gave props to SC, and left. This piece of Athena didnt show up when when Texas beat that ass, he dissapears under no bet, or circumstances. How does a One Pete sound SC fans. Cause all that talk of Dynasty is hilarious considering they only won 1 National Title, and even then Auburn was also unbeaten, leaving doubt they were even the best team last yr.

I never disappeared. I don't owe any congratulations to Texas fans here, as I never put Texas down or even discussed the game here prior to it being played. I never ran my mouth the way you do, putting down other teams. The only time I talked any trash was toward you, because you have a big mouth and I like to see it owned. Luckily, you do a great job of owning yourself.

And USC has two national titles in the past three years and 12 overall. Deal with it. If any team didn't win a national title in 2002, it's LSU. Because the BCS is not a recognized national championship. The reason the BCS champion is a national champion is because the BCS controls the coaches poll. And the coaches wanted to make USC the champion, but were contractually obligated to vote the winner of the BCS game. A little Catch-22 that let LSU share in USC's national title. The Associated Press and coaches polls are the two polls that decide national champions. The BCS, without the coaches poll, just has a pretty trophy. Look it up.

First, I do not know John Galt from Adam, I am a relatively new contributor to this board, having started only this season. However, I have been very active this season, and been very vocal for UT. During this season, I do not recall JG having said anything for USC or against UT.

Second, anyone that thinks Sarge is loud and obnoxious can’t be all bad.

Having said this, I have a real problem with the above statement. The BCS exists because of the “Big 5” conferences and ND, they are responsible for it. Those 54 schools went into the 2003 season knowing what the rules were, and what it would take to win “their” National Championship. If any of these schools didn’t agree with the system, they should have loudly proclaimed that before the season, and oh by the way not taken their share of the BCS cash. I will listen to Boise St & TCU fans talk about how the BCS is not the real National Championship all day long. For fans of one of the “54” to do it, is the height of hypocrisy.

Says who, you. :D whatever, you still think SC has 12 titles, when the AP only recognzies 5. If the coaches poll recognizes more, they also recognize LSU as the 03 Champion, not SC. You cant have it both ways ass wipe.

And about that trophy, A pretty trophy that says National Champions.

Well he is kind of right... the BCS isn't a national championship. It merely is a formula to determine #1 and #2. Or in the case of 2003 "#1" and #2. The Coaches Poll still determines the national champion, but by a binding contract they vote whoever wins that game #1. As I pointed out before... that is the ONLY reason teh coaches voted for LSU in 2003. Because they had too. USC was #1 in both polls. Everyone knew even back in 1998, that the BCS, although some argue it was a step in the right direction, also knew that there was still, a possibility of a split national championship. You can denounce the AP Poll all you want, but they've been crowning national championships long before the BCS was an itch in ABC's money grubbing pants. If you remember correctly, in 2003, there was a lot of speculation of coaches actually breaching the contract and voting for USC instead, because lets make something perfectly clear, thats who they really would have voted for. The crime in 03' was clearly Oklahoma, getting destroyed in there conference championship game, and still being #1 in the BCS. First of all, there should be a rule in place saying that if you don't win your conference championship, you don't deserve to be in a national championship game. LSU, beat the 4th best team AT BEST in the Sugar Bowl that year, as Michigan or USC were both superior teams. Heck, Ohio State was a better team as they handled the same Kansas State team that blew out Oklahoma. That was the real crime in 2003. #1 and #2 didn't meet. #2 and #5 did.

LMAO, I suppose the NFL should only allow division winners in the playoffs, as if you cant win yoru division, you do not deserve to be Super Bowl Champs. Blah Blah Blah. The best 2 teams played on the field and LSU won. USC couldnt beat a 1 man team in Vince Young in their best team of the last 4 yrs. So dont give me USC deserved anything. USC beat the Big 10 Champ, Michigan, which was a complete joke, where Michigan showed no heart, and were not playing for a NC. The 2 teams playing for the title duked it out, and LSU won. As painful is that is to say. LSU was the National Champion. USC simply isnt that good, they beat an OU team that beat itself, and they took advantage of every gift given to them. that is the only meaningful game they have won in the last 3 seasons, and they have 1 NC to show for it. SC is the most over-rated over hyped team of all time, and a 1 man team Texas beat em. End of story.

You are correct that the BCS is not a Championship. However, I believe that is clear that in the eyes of the NCAA, the winner of the National Championship Game is the National Champion. The contract with the Coaches Poll is merely a means to communicate the National Champion, not a way to determine the Champion. I can only assume that they do this because for so long, the only means to determine a national champion, was a Poll and also to try and slow the growing support of a playoff.

This is a direct quote from page 113 of the official 2005 record NCAA record book. A link to the entire document follows.

“The Bowl Championship Series (BCS) was launched in 1998 to match the No. 1 and No.2 teams in the BCS rankings in a bowl game to determine a national champion in the absence of NCAA-sponsored playoffs.”

I believe USC's 2004-05 team was better than the 2005-06. 04-05 had a better defense and, by the end of the season, the same offense. The 04-05 team also was hungrier to prove they did deserve the championship with the controversy in 03-04.

The offense wasnt nearly as effiecent. Leinart, White, and Bush all had career yrs in 05, so it wasnt the same offense. But even with Lofa and the 2 DT, Vince Young runs right through that defense on route to the NC.

There overall stats might not have been as good, but that's because USC was breaking in new WRs and OL at the beginning of the season. As I said, by the end of the season, the offense was as good as it was this year.

As I said the stats prove otherwise. You can make whatever excuse you want, but the fact is in 05, the offense was superior, as I stated before.

The stats certainly don't prove that the 2004-05 USC team wasn't as good offensively by the end of the season as the 2005-06 team. I think you remember what happened at the end of the season very well, as much as you'd like to forget. You just can't admit when you're wrong, which is fortunate for us because it makes your posts so much more entertaining.

I dont think a complete meltdown proves anything. Well unless you are talking about leading by 12 with 6 mins left and your offense cant do Athena, and your defense is even more pathetic giving Texas a d@mn National Championship.

And I aint wrong douchebag, you are. Bout time you learned how to handle that, as well as SC losing.
