Just stumbled across this forum. Still too stupidly busy to get much involved. Looking forward to participating once I am less busy.

Wnated to get everyone's opinion about a wine I have jsut discovered, and thought might be a nice suggestion for the wine tasting (though I know I will not be able to be there 'live' if it gets aproved) Bergerac Sec AOC is a white wine from the SW of France, I am drinking a Chateau Le Bost 2004 that set me back 11$ (but I live in a hipster/overpriced neighborhood)

Any takers?

not totally sure, but is that from the dordogne? if so, what would be good for comparison's sake....sauv blanc?

i am definitely game, but would like to follow our format (basics), then branch out to other grapes/regions... i'll start looking for it, though am a little pesimistic.... my selection is not very broad here in the mountains.

From the Southwest region in France (or Sud Ouest as we call it). The Begerac is in an area right next door to the Bordeaux region.

grapes: semillon, sauv Blanc, muscadelle, Ondenc, chenin blanc and up to 25% Ugni blanc (on the proviso that the qunatity of Sauv Blanc is at least equal)
