Everyone's sportsbook still have Steelers favored by 4? My book started at 3.5, went to 4 a couple days ago and the money is still coming in on the Steelers. I think I'm gonna let misguided Steeler mania keep riding until Sunday and make some easy money....straight up on the Hawks and maybe even a 4.5-5 point underdog bet. :D

Yep, Seahawks +3.5 or more is a great bet, just cant see this game being decided by more than a FG. Personally I'm staying away from the over/under. The site I use currently has it at 47, I can see it going either way.

I never saw 3.5

I've seen 4 or 4.5 the whole time.

But I also think I'm taking the points and odds.

I saw 3.5 points only minutes after the last divisonal game, during the post-game interviews I think? Vegas boys never sleep....

this game has all the makings of a blowout. i just dont see the seahawks doing what the broncos, colts, and bengals couldnt do... stop the steelers offense, create turnovers, run the ball well. hasselbeck may get 250+ yards, but if that happens you can count on alexander having been close to shut down. one single 100 yard runner in what? 30+ games now.. that says a lot. i dont care who we face.. the front 7 is just too fast and strong for opposing teams to run on.. add in polamalu as basically a homing missile against running backs and you just arent going to get it done.

I certainly don't see a blowout. This Seahawks team is for real, and the Steelers are going to have their hands full. I don't care about no stinkin' blowout, I don't care about covering no stinkin' thread, I simply want a victory !!!!!!!!

Seeing as how the Steelers are still getting more action than the Seahawks even with that line, I would have to say you are correct.

Psssst..... I was talking about all the people at the Huddle that are jumping on the Seahawks and the points.

I'm in at +4 but also got some 4 1/2 action.

The Steeler mania is in full force. All the pressure is on the Steelers here. Everybody is already assuming they are going to win it. The Seahawks are just the bastad stepchild in this event. The punching bag de 'jour.

Steeler fans will be brutally crushed over this one if their team blows it, one hell of a lot more than I will be about dropping 5 bills. Money can be replaced. But the stinging loss of thinking you are the Champions until the moment the scoreboard hits :00. That is priceless.

Trust me, not ALL Steeler fans are over-confident. I will be upset if they lose, because they are so close, but, it won't be because I was overconfident and already have them winning the game. This is going to be a battle, no doubt about it.

im being honest with my statement.. im not talking a 20+ point game.. but a double-digit game is very possible. its not like a there hasnt been a super bowl end with a convincing lead.. there has been a pettern this postseason of rather bad games to the casual fans as well.. it seems as if every game predicted to go down to the wire, just didnt.. one team showed up and killed the other. the close games were tampa bay vs washington, carolina vs chicago and pittsburgh vs indy. the pitt vs indy game wouldnt have even been that close if the polamalu int wasnt overturned.

out of the 39 super bowls played.. 27 were won by 10+ pts (3 games ended by 10 pts exactly.) 69% of the super bowls ended with a double-digit win.

i know everyone thinks every super bowl is going to be a close game and a thriller.. thats what everyone hopes for. but more often than not, this doesnt happen.

mark my words though.. if the steelers play like they have throughout their winning streak and into the playoffs.. the seahawks dont stand a chance. no team has played close to that level over the past month and a half.

Here is a case of a person looking too far back in the rear view mirror for a direction to bet in this game.

While there have been more than a fair share of SB blowouts, this is a different era. A different league. A lot less room between the elite and the average.

This game will come down to who turns the ball over, which is a trend that has held true in 39 out of 39 Superbowls.

:D Yup, the Seahawks are nowhere near that level of play,as they have been barely squeaking by teams all year long and especially their last game.

Over the last 9 years the favorite in the SB has covered the spread only 2 times, with the underdogs winning three outright (credit to Ratass on this one).

Hey, I heard Bettis is returning home to Detroit, with your impressive insider information, can you let me know if this is true?

Not true. It was reported today that Jerome Bettis actually grew up in Little Rock, Arkansas

Per my book...

55% of bettors are taking the Steelers and the points (-4); conversely/obviously the remaining 45% are taking the Seahawks and the points (+4).

57% are taking the Steelers straight-up.

51% have taken the over (47).

I don't see the 4 points moving unless there's a hugh push on the Steelers side. 4.5 would be the highest it'll get.

That's interesting. Must mean that the people betting the Seahawks are betting bigger amounts, and perhaps that's usually true of underdogs.

dont give me this crap about "different era. different league" over the past 10 super bowls, 5 have been decided by 10+ points.

all im saying is that both teams are playing as good as anyone has all year.. if one team's level of play falls a bit and the other team continues its surge, then the game will not be close. i just happen to think the seahawks may slip a bit and the steelers wont look back.. im sure some seahawks fans feel just the opposite.. its a matter of opinion. if i were betting i would take the steelers. i dont see the game being decided by less than 5 pts either.

Well, you certainly are entitled to your opinion. And being as how you aren't putting your money where your mouth is, I will give your statements all the creedence they deserve.

On a side note, I am considering donating my winnings in this game toward a reward for someone that can tell me what ever happened to punctuation.
