Chargerz
The Steelers just signed defensive tackle Grant Bowman to their practice squad. He was released during training camp this summer and has not played for the Steelers at all this year. He won't even suit up for the Super Bowl because he's on the practice squad, but if the Steelers win the Super Bowl, he gets a ring. Somehow this doesn't seem right to me. Do you think it's fair??? Czarina
I didn't know that practice squad guys got rings, but I guess if he's 'on' the team, he gets a ring.

And yes, I guess he should get a ring. I don't know why they don't just sign him after the superbowl? Is he going to be that vital to this weeks game? muck
I wonder if MIA ever makes it to the SB, do they sign Marino to a practice squad contract so he can get a ring?
Big John
I wonder if MIA ever makes it to the SB, do they sign Marino to a practice squad contract so he can get a ring? 1303139[/snapback] He would not be eligible for the practice squad since he has over a year of experience on the regular roster. charty
I say the Steeler captains should march into Cowher's office, and give their jersey up for Bowman. Let him dress and get into the game during garbage time. Would that work? In all seriousness, there are under 10 guys on the practice squad, I believe, and they are part of the team. The front office gets them, for the Pats 1st SB, Kraft gave them to everybody that was an employee of the team. I'm sure the front office staff has "Front Office" or something where a player would have "7 - QB" or whatever. The practice team probably doesn't have numbers, theirs might mention practice squad or something like that where others have their numbers, position, etc. engraved. cre8tiff
If they signed him, it must mean he is able to emulate someone on the Seahawks' style. I can see for sure the reasoning behind signing someone just to ry thier game plan against.
DMD
I believe that it is at the team's discretion on whether players get rings or not. Recall Terry Glenn being with the Patriots and yet not getting a ring.
