Menudo
Well, I've waited a long time for this. It was so emotional when they won. All I could thing about was my Dad. I love him, I felt him with me, and it was a fun night. To the Seahawk fans, wow, I have the utmost respect for them. They are the real deal. Great team. For those that are going to use the refs, etc., you are better than that. The Steelers won this game, and didn't play very welll overall. The Seahawks will be back, and I give the Steelers defnese the credidt for this win. Seahawk fans, you proved your team belonged exactly whter they are, and it was a great game
CaptainHook
Congrats Menudo and all the Steelers fans here at The Huddle. BUT. . . If I were Menudo or any other Steeler fan, I'd be happy as hell. They have a right to be. But that officiating was just awful. Every time the Seahawks made a play on special teams or in Steeler territory it got wiped out. The offensive PI call should never have been made. The holding call on the pass that went to the two yard line was HORRIBLE. On the next two plays, it looked to me that the Steelers LB was offsides. No calls. And the block below the waist was mystifying. Alexander got horse-collard, plain and simple. No call. Seahawks had no chance tonight. I don't believe in conspiracies, because I don't think the NFL has anything to gain. The ratings are what they are for the SB. Fixing the outcomes would do nothing. I just think it was plain human error. I WAS rooting a bit for the Seahawks tonight, but I don't think this has clouded my judgement. I originally didn't think Roeth got in on his TD run, but the stop action shot sure made it look like the ball broke the plain. No complaints there. I watched the game with about 25 people. Everybody was floored by the officiating. I wish we had seen a fair fight. Steelers might still have won though. We'll never know. Like somebody said, 25 years from now, the Steelers will still have the championship. But man, if I was a Seahawks fan, I would be one PISSED OFF guy tonight. kpholmes
I don't even know what to say to this dude. You need to take a step back. 31 teams and their fans just saw the biggest joke in NFL history. If it were my dad and I in your shoes, he wouldn't be proud of this win at all. The Steelers are the World Champions, and they earned it on a tougher pass than anyone ever has.... it is what it is......THE STEELERS ARE WORLD CHAMPIONS, and all of you trying to take away from that are simply pahteic..... I mean, I would have felt bad (a little) if the Colts had come back to beat the Steelers in the Divisional round, because I don't think they deserved it, but I'd of taken it! I'd be thrilled with a SB no matter how it came. I just wish we had seen a more fairly called game tonight. There is no dispute that the block below the waist was completely bogus. And the hold on that pass down to the two was exactly how the tackles had been playing ALL NIGHT. If that was a hold, then Dwight Freeney would have drawn 752 holding penalties this year. Like I said, enjoy the hell out of the victory. But be objective. That's what you have asked of the fans of teams you have beaten in the post -season here on this message board. You've been killing guys for being "homeristic" in there post-defeat posts. You know there were some bogus calls out there tonight. Edited February 6, 2006 by CaptainHook

Tonight's vicotry was a great moment during the worst year of my life, without question. The Steelers won by 11, they deserved it, they were the better team, and the won. You guys can ALL try to take away from what happened, but the Steelers won the Super Bowl, and I am one happy camper. If you really think the officials made this happen, then I feel bad for you. The Steelers earned this championship, and I am going to savor every single second of it........

All of you, I don't care at all what any of you thing.... if any team ever eanered a championship, it was this year's Steeelrs. Personally, I see a lot of jealus junk being thrown out. Oh boy, the Lombardi trophy just doesnt' taste as good. Deal with it bitches !!! My team is the Super Bowl Champions. This title was given toi the 'soft' Colts before the playoffs started. They didn't win by 1, they won by 11. It is funny that no oen can give credit where it is due. I can't belive the Steelers won, but those of you :crying: about i....... steeler
What is so hard to grasp about that?1307557 I have never blamed the officals for any loss and I think it's kinda weak for you to think the game was given to the Steelers. If I were a Hawks fan: I would be pissed that DJax extended his arm (weather or not it was PI) because he didn't have to do it.... he gave the offiical a chance to make a judgement call when he didn't have to. I would also be pissed about giving up a 3rd and 28 when the score was 3-0. I would also be pissed that they miss-managed the clock at the end of the first half and at the end of the game. I would also be pissed that my PK missed two FGs (although they were long ones). I would also be pissed that they gave up that long run to Fast Willie Parker. I would also be pissed that they gave up the flea-flicker TD to H. Ward. Had the Hawks played better they could have won. Blaming the officiating is

Azazello1313
Are you saying it was intentionally fixed? 1307533 would you deny that it was a poorly officiated game? would you deny that EVERY bad or borderline officiating "judgment call" went your team's way and collectively had an enormous impact on the game? the game should have been 17-14 hawks in the third quarter. then a series of several specific, quantifiable terrible calls and one pitssburgh gadget play later, it's 21-10 instead. the best thing you and menudo could do is go have fun and celebrate. the game is over and the scoreboard says your team won. that should be enough. sign off, kick a few back, and go to bed happy. but don't come on here insulting our intelligence saying the game was fair and pitt deserved the win. everyone outside of pittsburgh is depressed at the debacle the league put in front of us tonight. and no it's not because we all hate the steelers or hate menudo...it's because we love football and hate seeing it crap its pants like it did tonight.
