Endzone pylon

Isn't the the pylon part of the endzone? Only two replays during the game showing Jackson's left foot coming down in bounds and his right foot kicking the pylon before touching out of bounds. Did I see that wrong? NFL Network showing many highlights and replays, but not this one? Shouldn't that have been a touchdown?

Watched it MANY times.  Wasn't even close.  Keep reaching though.....

I only saw it twice. If his foot touched out of bounds before kicking the pylon, it's incomplete. What I'm asking is, did his foot touch the pylon first, and if so, is that a touchdown by rule?

Menudo, just because you can find the 'reply' button doesn't mean you have to hit it each and every time. It's permissable for you to just keep your thoughts to yourself from time to time. You ought to try it.

Listen Czar, rip me all you want, but, how would you feel that when your Patriots finally won the Super Bowl, there were tons of posts trying to take it away from them

I love you. Always have, you are a great contributor to this place, but, yes, I get upset that NO ONE will give the Steelers any credit.

Credit is given when credit is deserved. Superbowl 40 will be remembered as Superbowl XL Scam.

With all this talk tonight I totally forgot that play. His foot was not out of bounds and hit the pylon on the way in. IMO it was a TD.

I think Holmgren should of challenged that. also..if I am not mistaking was not the refs supposed to review that automatically? because it seemed like there was less than 2 minutes to go in the Half.

It would be easier to give you credit Menudo if you weren't flooding the boards with chest thumping. Seriously. As it is, you'll find it's more fun for people to continue to :D . Didn't going through years of UT and Finger teach you anything at all?

The pylon is out of bounds. Had his foot brushed the inside of it, i believe it may be a TD. His entire leg and foot went outside the pylon, which is out of bounds.

I saw that he touched the outside of the pylon. If that is out of bounds, so be it.

Seems like I have seen a number of players dive and hit the pylon with the ball and them call it a TD.

Maybe the ball has to go inside the pylons and the refs were saying it did not is the only thing I can see.

Listen Czar, I didn't rip the Seahawks at all going into this game. I also came on here immediately to congratulate the Seahawks for a great game, only to be told, that I should't celebrate, because our victory was 'tainted'...... give me a break, I've watied 20 years, and I am going to enjoy it. Sorry if it annoy you or anyone else.

It was a pass play not a running play. There are certain things the receiver must do to have a complete pass one of which is to make an "athletic move" after gaining possession. He didn't.

Oh, so a crane kick to the pylon might have helped?

I agree, I thought only the ball need to cross the plane. We see many TD's given to guys reaching for the endzone to get the ball past the plane. The real question is did the ball cross the plane before his foot came down out of bounds. If it did, then it should have been a TD. This play should have been reviewed.

What where Holmgren and Hasselback thinking at the end of the half, they only needed 6 yards or so for the FG and they are throwing tough 20 yard fade sideline passes and wasting so much time? Plus they had a TO left and the league MVP behind a great line. I found myself laughing and thinking that Brady and Belicheck would not have had these issues going into the half. Maybe they don't practice these situations enough.

The steelers made 3 big plays when it counted and the seahawks did not. Add to that the bad officiating and steelers won. Congrats to the Steelers and their QB with a rating of 22, you did just enought to win a bad game.

Now back to College Basketball and waiting for spring training before draft prep...... :D
