Whiskey Pimp
And before Menudo comes in to say "Steelers won and you all need to get over it", hear me out. All week we hear how strong PIT is and how Polamalu is amazing and all over the field and how Roth is becoming such a solid QB. Where were all the Steelers players last night? None of them really showed up to play except for Hines really. Ben was brutal, that INT to Herndon was one of the worst passes I've ever seen down at the endzone. Polamalu wasn't involved in hardly any plays and the only time I heard his name was when DJax picked him and Stevens was wide open in the endzone. Steelers are SB Champs but the players truly did nothing to deserve this win. They played their worst game in their final 8 game winning streak in the biggest game of the year. Can't call them chokers since they now have the ring, but on an even playing field (refs) this game goes the other way.

Skippy
I am of the mind set that is thinking that the Seahawk's did a pretty good job with Troy, and Porter. Having said that, a lot has to do with game plan and I don't think the Steelers thought that they were going to get to Hasselbeck very often. I think that offensive line of the Seahawks is the very best that the Steelers have faced this year, by the way. I think that the offense did just enough and had a few key big plays but by no means was this a good game for them or Roeth. 1308059[/snapback]
rebdog
Roethlisberger was terrible. Not only did he throw two bad picks, one at the goalline on 3rd down and one at midfield on a duck he threw up for grabs on first down, but he also made a terrible decision when he threw the pass to Ward to the 2 yard line on 3rd and long in the first half. The Steelers needed maybe 7 yards to get in FG range when they were down 3 to 0. He could have easily ran to get them into FG range but instead, he pulled up and threw bak over the middle and was very lucky to get it to Ward. In that situation, you take what the defense gives you and you tie the game. He could've easily cost his team 3 points there and was more than fortunate. And the commentators didn't even say a word. Just because a play works out doesn't mean it was a good play.

Sgt. Ryan
Roeth had the lowest Qb rating of any player to ever win the game 22.5, and he even admitted he was not effective. the running game was 1 play and a bunch of nothing, and the refs had more to stopping Seattle drives than anything the Pitt D could muster. Think about how many times drives ended when Seattle was driving because of the yellow flag that completely bogus. Its not just about the 1 or 2 plays which most certainly gave the game to Pitt, but its about the number of drives killed by the yellow flag that gave the Pitt D a chance to compete in this game. Lofa should be saying Jeez, they took the game from us like that spare ass Joey Porter did. His performance validated exactly what I said he was, a mouth that is ineffective if he isnt blitzing with no one in his face. Hell Jeremy Stevens was bad, but he caught a TD, Porter should be embarassed by his mouth and going out there and doing nothing to back it up. The difference is Holmgren and the hawks had more class than Porter and they had much more to gripe about than 1 play. Edited February 6, 2006 by Sgt. Hugh 0ne
Allright Sarge, we get it, you think the Steelers didn't deserve to win, the refs handed them the game, and you feel cheated as a fan. No need to post it in every thread. You're getting like some other people around here.

Sgt. Ryan
For the record, I think Seattle didnt make the plays to put this game away even with the penatlies legit or not. Seattle proved to be the better team last night, but clearly couldnt overcome the misfortunes. I said going into the game Pitt would win, and they were the better team. I still think if both teams played to their ability Pitt is the better team. But last night did nothing to prove they deserved to win that game.
