theeohiostate
Well, the Steelers can call it even now, as the officials who performed well enough throughout the season to earn the privilege of working Super Bowl XL performed Sunday as though they were trying to make it up to the Steelers by giving them the game -- not just any game, but the biggest game. And, yes, this time the other guys, the Seahawks, cried conspiracy, only not quite as loudly as Porter. That's about right. "No one wanted us to win. They wanted Jerome Bettis to win and go out a hero, and they got it." Bingo Here's what referee Bill Leavy's crew did, point blank: It robbed Seattle. I guess others agree with the masses
theeohiostate
You see, you can spend weeks -- and we did; two, in fact -- analyzing and dissecting matchups and giving each team the edge in certain areas and trying to figure out how the game is going to play out, but the two things you can't account for are turnovers and officials. The latter were the X-factor Sunday. Edge: Steelers. Wow! and the Steelers homers would have us think, we're off the rocker for thinking this way. MikesVikes
This isn't the first time that people have had problems with play reviews and the outcome of them. How many camera angles did they have on that play? If they can't get it right with 97 cameras, then they shouldn't even try anymore.

jgcoach
Let's face it, the officials dropped the ball on calls more than a couple times in the game. Still Pitt. won the game, they're champs for the next year. It was more than the officials that gave that game to the Steelers. Hass. definitely had his moments as did the "D" and the whole team for that matter.
Guggs
So, what some of you are saying is that if a couple of questionable calls were not made, the Seahawks wouldn't have lost by 11? They for sure would have won it, huh?

Pitt's defense played a excellent game and IMO if I have to pretend the refs did not exist the defense gets the credit for this victory. pedroz13
So, what some of you are saying is that if a couple of questionable calls were not made, the Seahawks wouldn't have lost by 11? They for sure would have won it, huh? 1309276[/snapback] They could easily have had the been tied actually. The interference call on DJAX cost them 4 points (FG instead of TD). The ref was bullied into making that call because the Pitt defender threw a fit. (the ref didn't throw the flag right away). The phantom holding call on Locklear cost them 7 points. They would have had 1st and goal on the 1. Instead, it was 10 yards back. The D-Jax hold could have gone either way (like I said in another post...the ref was RIGHT at the play), but all calls benefited PITT which is the point of all the whining. No I'm not a SEA fan. Shouldn't have come down to that either, with 2 questionable TD both called the Giants way.
