Now, the Indianapolis Colts defensive end is secure in the NFL. Brock became the second Colts player to bypass a shot at the league's veteran free agent market by agreeing to a five-year contract with the team. Financial terms were not immediately available. Earlier in the week, wide receiver Reggie Wayne agreed to a six-year, $39 million contract with the Colts. He and Brock would have been unrestricted free agents March 3. "It feels real good to know that I'm going to be in Indianapolis for a long time,'' Brock said Friday night in a telephone interview with The Star from his home in Philadelphia. "That's where I started off.'' Brock was a seventh-round draft pick of Philadelphia in 2002. However, he became a free agent when the Eagles rescinded their rights to him, and quickly signed with the Colts. "It's been a long, tough road,'' Brock said. "But it's big for me that (the Colts) want me to be a part of what's going on there. The defense is getting better and better, and I want to be a part of that.'' In four seasons, Brock has appeared in 61 games, 54 as a starter. He has established himself as an invaluable component along the defensive line, registering 114 tackles, 13 sacks and five forced fumbles the past two seasons. link Quote Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

What does this guy bring to the success of your team, with the depth they have at DL already, especially with the play of Mathis opposite Freeney. He only comes in for obvious passing plays anyways. Brock is better against the run, and has been the "official" starter for the last couple years. I haven't heard anything about terms of the contract, but he is a solid player that doesn't get hurt. This was a good signing. You have to remember too, the Colts depth at the defensive line has taken a hit by free agency. Larry Triplett is a UFA and Josh Williams was cut. Brock is versatile, and usually moves to DT when Mathis comes into the game. Needless to say though, this has no fantasy value.
