Swiss Cheezhead
This "retest" is complete B.S. Has anyone ever taken a second IQ test minutes after taking a first? Your score usually goes up significantly. If there are only five or six versions of the test, some of the questions were the same and all were pretty similar I'm sure. My point is that a 16 is bad. Getting a 16 after seeing the test for a second time in two days is really bad.

mggoilers
It's a choice. You can do the work by studying, practicing, and applying what you've learned. This is the case in the real world and in sports. Vince did not do the work, or chose not to apply it. It's all so sad. How can a guy like Dirk Nowitzki who grew up in Germany communicate better than kids who have spent their whole life in an English Speaking country? Communication is essential for success in most careers, along with intelligence. You do the work by studying, practicing, and applying what you've learned. It's all about priorities and effort. I'm tired of all the excuses, pointing blame on things, and all that other crap. You got a 6 or 16...either way it's crappy. Take responsibility. As a Texas grad, I'm embarrassed. Saying that, most football coaches would rather have football players than bookworms. Edited February 27, 2006 by mggoilers

Menudo
That wasn't cold turkey, it was Costanza doing the opposite of what he thought was what he was supposed to do. This theory has gotten some of us closer to 50 than 20. 1342139 You need some help on your Senfield Trivia. George hitting the ball had nothing to do with doing the opposite, that was a different episode. Vinatieri Is God
At least Rogers scored a 35, Young getting a 6 means his mispelled either his first or last name as they are worth 6 points each 1341899 No credit for spelling your name correctly....that's the SAT's
Vinatieri Is God
what is the thing out of? 40? 1342012 Out of 50 but it is nearly impossible to finish all the questions in the 20 minutes they give you. I took it one time as part of a job interview. Any high school graduate should be able to get at least 20.
T-Scorp
11. In printing an article of 48,000 words, a printer decides to use two sizes of type. Using the larger type, a printed page contains 1,800 words. Using smaller type, a page contains 2,400 words. The article is allotted 21 full pages in a magazine. How many pages must be in smaller type? The answer to this question is 20! Yet the answer given in the article is 17! My thought is that the article should have listed the words as 40,800 instead of 48,000. 48,000 divided by 2,400 is 20!! 40,800 divided by 2,400 is 17! Maybe Vince is smarter than we think and more of the answers are wrong!!!!

Vince Young is a T-sip. I would be surprised that any TU grad would be able to score in double digits on the Wonderlick. Luckily for some former Longhorns, they do get credit for spelling their names correctly... 1342688 Aggie fans have been calling him Radio for at least the last two years. One thing that does have me concerned upon further review. Right after the Rose Bowl I believe when both Vince Young and Mack Brown were interviewed (like right on the field), they both credited this years' success to Mack just letting Vince play. Re-test or no re-test, 6 being wrong or right, he obviously didn't score well. Combine that with what both Young and Brown said about UT's 2005 season and there is certainly a reason to be more concerned, IMHO, than I was originally. That being said, you put Young in the right situation and he will be a star.

However, the test is multiple choice, so the issue is not to solve the equation, but to be able to test the possible answers and eliminate the wrong answers. However, that becomes difficult if you take the above approach.

It should make teams a little nervous about Young though, right? I think he's going to be really good in the NFL but those comments immediately post Rose Bowl by both he and Brown about how Mack had been overcoaching and that Young was at his best when you just let him go make plays. That seemed like a plus when I first heard it. Kind of sounds at least a little less positive now that he had a bad Wonderlic. Of course I'm a racist because Tom Brady reminds me of Troy Aikman. THE SIX KINGS
ESPN insider The biggest buzz coming out of Indianapolis the last few days is the rumor that Texas QB Vince Young bombed his Wonderlic test. Rumor had Young scoring a 6 on the test. While the results of his first test haven't been confirmed -- and combine officials have said the score of 6 was wrong -- ESPN.com's John Clayton reported that Young scored a 16 on his second try (according to his agent) and he's expected to take it a third time. The results of that test will not be released to NFL teams until next week, so it remains completely speculation at this point. "The combine officials assured us that score (6) was false and that the accurate score will be known when the combine results are given to each team," Young's agent, Major Adams, said. Houston general manager Charley Casserly told the Houston Chronicle: "I've been told it was inaccurate by a source good enough for me to quote it." Just as a barometer, the highest score registered at last year's scouting combine was a 40 (QB Alex Smith) and the lowest score was a 6 (RB Frank Gore). I also have been told by an NFL scout that the other two top quarterbacks this year fared much better on this test, with USC's Matt Leinart scoring a 35 (at the combine) and Vanderbilt's Jay Cutler scoring a 29 (in a test given prior to the combine). If the initial rumors about Young's low test score were proven true, his draft stock stands to be significantly affected, especially with Cutler continuing to skyrocket up most teams' draft boards. When I asked one scout from the AFC if he thought Young would still be a top-five draft pick if the rumor turns out to be true, he answered, "Sure... as a wide receiver, though "
