i_am_the_swammi
rom cbssportstline.com the AM: News: The Denver Post reports the Philadelphia Eagles have shown interest in Mike Anderson. He would be a power back to pair with the more versatile Brian Westbrook. Analysis: At this point it appears Anderson will either share carries or be a reserve, so he won't be worth more than a middle- to late-round choice in drafts. Let's see, an apparent signing on-deck with Pro Bowl Center LeCharles Bentley, and now an interest in power RB Mike ANderson to tag-team with Westbrook. I really like the idea. Line them both up in the back field, send Westbrook in motion, and let him make OLBs look just silly. Don't look now, but if Anderson signs, the Eagles #1 player in receptions may just be Westbrook. SHould this play out, I would disgree with their analysis of where Anderson should be drafted. With the Eagles dink and dunk West Coast offense, Anderson would see a plethera of opportunities from inside the 10-15 yard line. And with this offensive line they are putting together, he should have plenty of chances. An 800-900 yard, 10-12 TD season would be my guess, making him a Top 25 RB, which should put him in the the 3rd-to-5th round. I wouldn't go as far as Priest/LJ, but I could see him being the Jerome Bettis-type role to Westbrook being the rich-man's WIllie Parker. Both should be fairly productive in this offense. ANd if Westbrook continues to be injury-plagued, Anderson could be an outright steal.
Avernus
I'd love to have him be the FB like he was when Portis was in Denver... he won't drop wide open passes like Josh Parry did...
