Azazello1313
espn is reporting that the saints are all geared up to throw a ton of money at brees, and are the favorites at this point to sign him. what would happen with the #2 pick at that point? Mojo20
Sign Brees, pick Ferguson, Healthy Duece............... Still 8 and 8.
trrhyne
Trade down and get more draft picks
loyalboyd
I see a trade down as well for a bunch of picks.
Career Ender
Wow talk of the Saints for Brees and Culp. They must not love Leinart.
T-Scorp
the other Rumor is that they are after Duante.... in either case both are coming off of serious injuries.
Jackass
maybe trade with the jets, still get ferguson, and sign brees.
rajncajn
maybe trade with the jets, still get ferguson, and sign brees. 1362657 That would be nice.
rajncajn
Two of the major local sport radio analysts have said their inside sources say it is true. Saints FO are looking at pictures of Brees' shoulder & if all looks well they will make a strong push to sign him. If that happens I see them either taking Ferguson or trading down for more picks. I'd be happy with either scenario.
myhousekey
Word I'm hearing is the Brees deal will be done by tomorrow (Source was 95% confident). We shall see.

Guest Sores
Parcells is actually the one pushing (or who originally pushed) the Saints towards Brees. Read it earlier today....possibly in the Clayton column I linked, don't remember for sure....
BOO
Yeah, I read that Parcells was pushing for that. I'm all for Brees and trading down to get Ferguson or even further and getting Hawk.
Cordo
Loomis was on SIRIUS about 30 minutes ago. Wouldn't comment on any free agents (was asked directly about Brees) but said Brooks is gone. Edit to add: I posted most of the stuff Loomis said (at least what I could remember) here. On the open market.

I'm all for Brees and trading down to get Ferguson or even further and getting Hawk. 1362877 That would be a good move for the Saints. They have needed a LB for years. If they could go back a little and still get Hawk it would start Payton's reign on a good note.
Big F'n Dave
It's gonna happen. Brees, that is. Still not sure what they'll do with the #2, tho.

tbimm
This is really exciting news. So many possiblities with that #2 if we dont have to use it on a QB.
NinersIn2006!
Wow, if this happens, how far will Vince Young fall then?? I mean, Leinart will still be a top 10 pick even if the Saints sign Brees, I believe, but if Leinart falls (meaning all the other QB's fall a slot), how far will Vince Young fall? A early second day draftee?
