OAK and BAL are not in the CPep sweepstakes.

MIA and NYJ are, apparently, still in the CPep sweepsteaks.

...per Rich Eisen on the NFL channel right now...

MIN has two offers on the table, and the only thing they can tell us is that OAK and BAL are NOT in the running.

If the NFL Network is right, how about these ...

NYJ trades 1.04 in 2006 and a 2nd rounder in 2007 contingent upon playing time for Culpepper and 1.17 and a 4th rounder in 2007 contingent upon NYJ having to send the 2nd rounder to MIN ... in which case MIN takes Cutler or Leinart at 1.04, or possibly Super Mario ... and the Jets can fill any of a wide variety of options at 1.17

or

MIA trades 2.16 in 2006 and a 4th rounder in 2007 contingent upon playing time for Culpepper ... in which case MIN may package their 2.16 with some other picks to move up to get a QB to run the new offense

or

NYJ trades John Abraham for Duante Culpepper and a 5th round pick ... two unhappy guys find a new home ...

Raiders | Team in final bidding for Culpepper

Fri, 10 Mar 2006 23:20:09 -0800

John Clayton, of ESPN.com, reports the Oakland Raiders were one of three teams supposedly involved in the final bidding for Minnesota Vikings QB Daunte Culpepper. The Raiders dropped out when they heard the price was going to be a second-round draft choice.

Miami's gotta be gouging their eyes out about Ricky's herbal behavior. Unloading Ricky Williams for Dante would have been the no-brainer-slam-dunk of the year for both teams ... especially since Minney already stocks logo-wizinators for their non-addicted but unable to stop anyway drug abusing running backs ...
