Doc Holliday
Well, that drops him to a late 2nd early 3rd round fantasy pick if this is in fact true.
Savage Beatings
I saw that same information scrolled across the bottom of ESPN as well.
DMD
The Arizona Cardinals Football Club has agreed to a 4-year contract with running back Edgerrin James. In accordance to team policy terms of the deal were not disclosed. As an 8-year NFL veteran James has rushed for over 1,000 yards in six of his eight years in the league. In each of his past two seasons with the Indianapolis Colts James has rushed for over 1,500 yards. As a 2-year starter at the University of Miami, James was the only player in school history to record consecutive seasons of over 1,000 rushing yards. The Immokalee, Florida native went on to be the fourth overall draft pick in the 1999 NFL Draft by the Colts. James signing marks the third free agent deal the Cardinals have completed this offseason.
Chief Dick
It's just nice to see the Cardinals do SOMETHING positive for that franchise. Looks like the Denny Green hire has definitely pushed them in the right direction. Hopefully the combo of this action and the new stadium brings in some fans for those players. I could care less about Bidwell since he is the root of their past problems, but the players have gotten the short end of the stick with this franchise. kpholmes
:sigh: Oh well... Now Warner won't throw as much, and Fitz/Boldin wont get as many receptions. Or be as good. And Edge will still be decent but not amazing. This move acutally hurts everyone's fantasy value.

The O-line in Arizona could not block a troop of girl scouts last year and ARZ has been noteworthy for never having a running game for years and years. The desert has killed many a career. But they will have to use him and that only takes away from Fitzgerald and Boldin since those two literally accounted for almost all offense last year. Where last year the Cardinals had no running game, opposing defenses could concentrate their efforts elsewhere. Now with a proven threat out of the backfield, defenses will have to be a lot more cautious allowing for more offensive opportunities to arise. I think this raises everyone's fantasy value. I have to admit that even though I hated Denny Green's play calling, I always thought that he was the most talented and most overpaid talent scout in the NFL. isleseeya
I think Edge value may go down a bit but at same time , if they use him properly ( its not like the colts thought run first most of the time the last 3- 4 years anyway ) , he may actually get more TD's with the Cards ...he should get more chances since he does not have Payton be throwing all those td's in the red zone Probably a few less yards but a few more Td's as a Card ...i would not fear drafting him

TecmoBeast
Isn't Arizona have a suspect O-line? Edge has his work cut out for him finding holes on this line. He's no longer 1500 yds

If they get Vernon Davis its over. Playoff bound Cards. That D they got aint that bad either.

I have to admit that even though I hated Denny Green's play calling, I always thought that he was the most talented and most overpaid talent scout in the NFL. 1365184 I think it has to affect them. Consider that last year Boldin (12) and Fitzgerald (8) were tied for #1 and #2 in runs by a wideout. That won't likely happen again. ARZ threw the ball 75% of the time last year - that won't happen again. Boldin (188) and Fitzgerald (168) were #1 and #5 in number of total plays by a wideout in the NFL last year - that won't happen again. Now I will concede - it should make them more EFFECTIVE, but it won't likely make them more PRODUCTIVE. Unless James (who had 360 runs and 52 passes for 412 plays and #3 in the NFL by an RB) is not used as much this year. James is a very good pass catcher as well - Warner had no other option last year really.
isleseeya
see link ...Arizona as a team last year rushed for 1138 yards with no viable running backs at all ...i see no reson to believe that Edge can not crack 1500 based on his skills and based on fact Cards have alot of balance with their passing game and 2 stud WR's Cards stats
TecmoBeast
Edge will turn into Robert Smith like #s. Booms one week, no consistency

isleseeya
Edge will turn into Robert Smith like #s. Booms one week, no consistency 1365209 i see no reason to believe this ...yet ...he has the skills to be effective ( both as RB and receiving passes from the backfield ) ...Cards have enough weapons to stop other teams from stacking the line and should at least open enough holes where Edge gets numbers ...he may drop off but i do not believe by much ...he may actually get more rushing Td's as he may get more chances in the red zone as opposed to what he got with Peyton and colts
HutOne
Now all Arizona has to do is get 5 O- Line men and they might have something going on down there.
