Football Fever
On the Patriot's web site they are report that the Pats have re-signed Givins, but no one has confirmed it. According to a report in Sunday’s Houston Chronicle free agent wide receiver David Givens has cancelled a scheduled visit to meet with the Texans after reaching a deal late Saturday to re-sign with the Patriots. Previously, Givens had reportedly made a free agent visit to the Miami Dolphins. A native of Humble, Texas, Givens’ Boston-based agent Brad Blank had reportedly listed the Dolphins, Texans and Patriots as the trio of teams Givens would choose between. In four seasons in the NFL, all in New England, Givens has played in 53 regular season games with 23 starts. In those games he recorded 158 receptions for 2,214 yards and 12 touchdowns. He set a career high last season with 59 receptions for 738 yards and two scores. The Notre Dame alum was drafted by the Patriots in the seventh round of the 2002 NFL draft. A call to the Patriots public relations department trying to confirm the report early Sunday morning was not immediately returned.
thecerwin
He fits better with the Pats than on the Browns. Good move by the Pats to retain him. I still hate Tom Brady though...
