I think BAL still goes RB in the draft though.

I find that hard to believe.

Doc Holliday
Mike Anderson as the Ravens starting RB? I find that hard to believe. 1365899 Yeah, I find this deal useless for the Ravens. Anderson may start off the season as the starter, but I would bet anyone he don't end up the starter.

forever in debt to mo lewis
ah this post reminds me of my 2000 fantasy backfield....mike anderson, jamal lewis, and robert smith

WaterMan
He kept Bell on the bench, why not some no names in Baltimore?
Doc Holliday
He kept Bell on the bench, why not some no names in Baltimore? 1365908 IMO that was more a slight to Bell. Anderson did nothing more than follow his blockers. the only reason he started over Bell was because Bell fell down in the backfiled way to easy. He won't be running behind that Denver line anymore. DMD
I am surprised. A four-year contract for a player who is 33 years old and has never played a full 16 game season ever? I am sure he will still be with the team at the end of the contract when he is 37 years old. He is depth but man - tying up 4 years and $8 million? Not sure this makes the team that much better though Anderson still has some stuff left in the tank... long as he does not blow another tire... justin
I don't quite know what to think of this, but initial thoughts are that Anderson is good value and he will be part of the backfield that will include a rookie. As someone already posted, IMO the Ravens go RB with one of their first two picks. It also frees up some money for the Ravens to go spend on linemen. A guy who can play and mentor their young guy (cause I do still think they go RB first round). And leaves them lots of money to shore up other holes. Jamal Lewis' time was done in BAL. You could see it by mid season last year. The guy has taken a beating since he's been there. I don't mind Lewis as a RB, think he could do well somewhere else. Baltimore had some major issues with play calling and scheming. You can't expect a guy to run against 8 man fronts everytime he touches the ball. broncosn05
Great. Another free agent off the board. 1365900 Mike Anderson is in no way a good back he was almost beat out by Ron Dayne. I'm glad to see him cut from the Broncos and on a terrible Raven team that it going NOWHERE!
Avernus
Great. Another free agent off the board. 1365900 this is fine...I only wanted him as a pass catching FB type... he went to Baltimor to be a backup for the rookie they are obviously drafting.. M Strong and F Beasley are still available...and we need to sign either or..
TheGrunt
Anderson beat Jamal Lewis for the NFL's Offensive Rookie of the Year award in 2000, when he gained 1,487 yards and scored 15 touchdowns. Mike Anderson is actually an excellent RB when he plays at the HB position! He will be an excellent starter for the Ravens. The only years he played the positions of RB was last year and his rookie year (where he was named rookie of the year). The rest of the time he was used as a FB. This guy is a sleeper and WILL play much better as the starting HB for the Ravens than J. Lewis. He'll get plenty of TD's next year! ...just wait. Congrats to the Ravens for picking up a well rounding back for such a great price!
