I cant see him getting a better price per kilo out there than he could here...that was probably an important factor in his decision :D

So why the hell did Baltimore sign M. Anderson? :D

EPSN answers this question like so: The Ravens don't have any other tailbacks on the roster with starting experience, and Anderson is a good fit with the team's power-based offense. It appears the Ravens landed Anderson at a fair price and with a deal that does not put them at too much financial exposure with an older back.

I'm with you. The last thing we need is a high dollar running back.

So... who's the starter next year? Ron "The Gamebreaker" Dayne... or some late 2nd round grab from Tupulo State?

Doesn't matter to me. I just want a veteran 2nd WR to catch balls over the middle and in the endzone, and we already missed out on Joe J.

Now neither Anderson or Lewis is worth a pre-season Top 20 spot! :D

March 13, 2006

BALTIMORE (Ticker) - Jamal Lewis is staying put.

The Baltimore Ravens on Monday announced that they have agreed in principle to a new three-year contract with the running back.

Lewis rushed for a career-worst 906 yards in 2005 after undergoing offseason right ankle surgery and spending four months in a Florida prison for a cocaine conspiracy plea bargain. He was the NFL's Offensive Player of the Year in 2003, when he rushed for 2,066 yards.

Lewis is expected to split time with Mike Anderson, who signed with the team after being cut by the Denver Broncos.

"We are so excited to have Jamal back," Ravens general manager Ozzie Newsome said. "If you look at his history, he always rebounds in a big way from adversity. He had a tough 2005 that started with surgery, his incarceration, and then dealing with all of the turmoil during the season with the contract hanging over his head. We expect big things from him."

If the Ravens can upgrade their OL, Jamal will have a nice year.  1400 yards and 10 TDs

The Ravens have already said they are going to stick with who they have on the O-Line, with the exception of Orlando Brown, who will retire. That's not good for business, IMHO.
