2005 Scouting Report - Scouts Inc.

Grade: 66 | Key

Alert: None

Comment:

Has good recognition skills, plays with good discipline and rarely gets caught out of position. Has adequate size, lined up at linebacker in college and can line up in the box. Reads plays quickly, fills hard when reads run and flashes the ability to disrupt plays in the backfield. Possesses good top-end speed, shows good range and makes plays all over the field. Plays with a mean streak, explodes into hits and is a powerful open field tackler capable of forcing some fumbles. Overall, McCadam makes an impact on special teams and he fills hard when he reads run but he is a liability in coverage and he shouldn't be an every-down player as a result.

From a guy who's watched the Falcons since coming down here in '94, McCaddam is a pretty wicked hitter who doesn't get on the field much because his coverage skills are a liablity. He's a special-teams, second-string player at the strong-side safety position. VERY solid guy to have, and I'm a little sorry to see him gone. He plays smart (which you have to when your talent isn't top-tier) and man does he leave some guys looking out their earholes... Just a FUN guy to have on your special teams for those exciting full-speed hits or upending a RB just when he builds up a head of steam. His tackle techniqe is texbook perfect, see-what-you-hit and drive through, and man he brings the wood.
