except for the kicks he shanked to spite Peyton Manning.

Right. All the career-joke making kicks he did to spite Manning and screw over every other teammate/coaching staff member on the Colts. :D

The guy is clutch, but missed 2 of the 3 biggest kicks in in Colt post season history.

He HAS made 11 game winning FG's in his career, but their are a few pressure kicks that stand out to me:

1: AFC Divisional round vs. Pittsburgh

2: AFC Wild Card game vs. Miami, misses game winning kick in OT

3: Season opener against NE in 2004, misses game tying kick

4: MNF comeback game vs. TB, misses in OT but gets a do-over on a "leaping" penalty. His second attempt is tipped at the line and he banks it in off the upright.

The only time he ever came through with something "more" that the game on the line was the season finale against Houston in 2004 that won the AFC South for the Colts.

I agree, he has made plenty of clutch kicks in his career. But when they REALLY mattered it seemed, REALLY MATTERED, he choked. And the idea that he would miss those kicks not because he choked but instead so he could stick it to Manning exposes the poster as either a Troll or a person of very limited knowledge of football.

You guys are MUCH better off with Viniateri.

You are absolutely correct. And I wasn't disagreeing with you about the foolishness of the "sticking it to Manning" part of your post. I had alreadly dismissed that as a foolish comment.

I agree. Vandy can't kick off worth crap. The Colts have to carry a kick-off specialist. And even with a specialist they had only two touchbacks all season. Then I heard the Pats fans complaining about Vinatieri's kick-off problems. But Adam had 12 touchbacks last season. He's better in the clutch. He's accurate. And now he's indoors. I think it's an improvement. And in an off-season where the Colts lost a very underrated, and I might add one of my favorite players, in Edgerrin James as well as the starting strong-side linebacker, David Thornton, I'm at least glad we upgraded our kicking situation. I didn't think that was possible.

Ah, I missed that. My bad.

Still don't really understand letting Edge go, but this was a tremendous pickup, the guy is a killer... why, if he wern't related to Evel Knievel I thnk I would hate him for what he did to us a few years ago. I just can't, though. The guy ran down Hershel Walker for gods sakes, a kicker with a killer instinct, balls and the bloodline of a daredevil.

Regardless of the ramblings of how 'clutch' Vandy is, he's still a HUGH upgrade over what the Cowboys have had to deal with last season....

Hey no one posted... that must mean that he didn't see his shadow.  So wait a minute, is that 4 more weeks of Winter, or does that mean that Spring is coming?  I can never keep that straight.  :D

Mike Vanderjagt has agreed to terms with the Dallas Cowboys, an NFL source has confirmed.

Terms of his deal with Dallas were not known, but Vanderjagt visited the Cowboys on Wednesday and agreed in principle to a contract that is expected to be completed and announced at some point Thursday.

I thought the Cowboys were tired of crappy kickers :D

J/K, he will be an upgrade over what they've had. Just keep him away from the firewater :D

If Vandy does sign with Dallas, it will be in keeping with the Cowboy's goal this season to pick up every free agent who has ever bad-mouthed his own Pro Bowl quarterback before.
