Keyshawn to visit Panthers

It will be interesting to see how this plays out. Key could be a good compliment to S Smith and allow more time for Colbert and Drew Carter to improve. I have a feeling he will ask for too much money and won't sign with us, but if he does, I like the move.

I guess but man the guy's a turd. He'll replace what we lost in Moose but I don't think he's as good of a player. Keyshawn's a good possesion reciever and a solid blocker but folks forget how good Moose is at blocking and he's a much more explosive player. I guess I just want Moose back on the team, I'll take a poor man's version in Keyshawn. :D

Probably there is Moose got a hugh contract that the Panthers couldn't afford. That money was then spent on Wahle and Lucas, which IMO improved the team.

Same thing this year with spoon and McCree, the Rams the Chargers paid big $$ and the Panthers then used it to keep Foster and sign Kemeatu and Hartwig.

If we can land Key at a reasonable price (NOT $4Mil / season) then I think it is a good move, if he doesn't come off his big demands, then we look elsewhere and let him go to another team.

I thought the Giants were going to pony up to get Key? I just don't see him as the charecter guy the Panthers like, and the huddle is Delhommes alone, and he won't be the #1 guy in the WR corp, plus, I think Carter is ready-unleash the lad.

Keyshawn is just doing the tour to see who is offering what.

I guess he wasn't happy about the Giants offer, I haven't read much today about his rumored visit to the Pats yesterday.

My guess it comes down the the Giants and Pats, although I did read that the Pats might be inquiring about Moulds.

Keyshawn is surprisingly close to Belichik, considering Bill was the defensive coordinator and Keyshawn was obviously a WR when Bill was with the Jets under Parcells.

I agree with this. Although I believe I read that Colbert was injured all year last year. I think he's much better than what we saw last year and is a good candidate for a sleeper pick.

Based on this article in the paper today, the Panthers may make a run at signing him today. Steve Smith has lobbied him to join the Panthers and his ties with Henning from his days with the Jets also may have a positive impact on him signing with the Panthers.

A couple years ago, I would have not wanted him, but now he seems to have matured some from his few years in Dallas, I think he could give the type of possession WR (move the chains, good blocker, etc.) the Panthers need across from Smith.

Keyshawn has also said in the past that Dan Henning was the best OC he's ever played for. I'll take a poor man's version of Moose at a good price. We could then focus on drafting a TE, LB and offensive lineman.

You guys are absolutely nuts. Keyshawn was held in check because he wanted to be in Dallas. Parcells didnt allow him to get out of line, and he respected Big Bill so he didny. Lets just say i dont see the same respect for the other coaches outside Belicheck. The dude compared himself to Marvin Harrison a yr or so back, and still wants the darn ball. he will be quite for a lil while, but with delhomme as the QB, and Fox as the coach, Key will be very outspoken as I doubt he has much respect for either of them. I hoped he would go to NY, to stir some feathers there, but his greed hasnt allowed that to happen yet.

I don't know, Fox seems like a pretty tough guy.

And Del is better then Bledsoe...

and as far as wanting to be somewhere goes.... he could win a ring quite easilly in CAR

TD - 24

Int - 16

Drew Bledsoe

Yards - 3639

TD - 23

Int - 17

We haven't been around very long but three NFC Championship games in 11 years is very impressive.

How many did you win in your 11th year in the league?

1384427[/snapback]

Dallas made it to the Super Bowl in year 11 (16-13 loss to Baltimore) and won it in year 12 (24-3 win over Miami).

You have a nice start, nothing wrong with that but you still do not match up to Dallas.

Cowboy fans see things different I guess.

The Cowboys have a great franchise no doubt, but what have then done since there last SB title? :D:D

Their playoff record since 1996 is 1 - 3 with two of those losses at the Panthers if I am not mistaken? :D

While the Panthers are 6-3 over that same span of time, including a great SB with the Patriots that was one of the best in recent memory. :D:D

The Panthers are a young franchise that has been a strong team since the arrival of John Fox a Parcells disciple, so I may be wrong, but I think the Panthers have a good chance to win a SB before too long with our current group of players.

We made the SB in year #9. I guess time will tell how our franchise will stack up to yours. One thing is for certain, we have a solid Head Coach, G.M. and owner and that makes for a promising future.

WOW ... I forgot ... nice going. :D

I would not mind seeing Carolina win one ... it's SF, Washington, Philadelphia, etc that I do not want to see do it.

I appreciate your feedback on this, but I don't think you are giving any credit to Coach Fox who is a very good coach and certainly merits a lot of respect from any player in the league. Henning used to be Key's OC w/ the Jets and I think he is interested in the Panthers because of that prior relationship with him.

I think Key is less of a risk than TO is with Dallas, certainly not has talented as TO, but we don't need TO when we already have Steve Smith. Also, the fact that Steve Smith has lobbied him and I would think Key is smart enough to know that he will be the #2 guy with the team and not be the pain that he has been in the past.

Guess we will see if he signs and what kind've impact he will make this season if he becomes a Panther.

Oh really, how many rings do The Panthers own.

This has already been covered..... ::D ::D ::D

Everytime you talk about rings you forget the last 10 years and playoffs, it seems.

Fox took over a team whose last coach was so bad, even I could have turned that team into a playoff team with a tweak or two. Forgive me, but Steve Smith had one great yr, lets not put him ahead of TO talent wise just yet. And when Key signed in Dallas he thought he would be the #1, and should have been, but Terry Glenn was simply better at getting open and more explosive, so it didnt turn out that way. Im not sure Keyshawn thinks hes a #2, which is why he was cut when Dallas brought in To, because he most certainly have been #2 minimum, but more likely the #3 with Glenn in the slot. Dallas didnt have to cut Keysahwn to sign To, they did it for a reason, he thinks hes better than he is.
