Geaux Saints! Posted March 23, 2006 Share Posted March 23, 2006 Everyday I see another team snatching up a good player via free agency. Everyone in the league seems to want to get better. What are the Texans doing? Who have they picked up? Not only that but it looks more and more like they will select Bush and NEVER address their O and D line issues? Anyone know what the hell is going on with this franchise? After such a promising start, they sure do look like the laughing stock of the league right now. I am a Texans fan and I am becoming concerned. This team is no better off than the way they ended last year. P.S. Terrell Owens is going to go nuts against them late next year. New head coach, same woeful O-line, #2 WR departed, no new additions in areas of need. Dom Capers is an excellent defensive mind, but his track record as a head coach is absolutley terrible. Pair that with Casserly's equally as bad personell decisions, and you've got a team that under acheived. Gary Kubiak has been at the top of everyones list as a new head coach for years now, and the Texans finally have someone with a track record. McNair is taking control away from Casserly and will now weigh in heavier on personell issues, so as of right now, we've got both of those issues seemingly adressed... Going into the offseason, offensivley we needed... A tight end. We grabbed Jeb Putzier, who isnt a world changer, but an extremley solid tight end in the league. Kubiak liked him so much, he brought him in from Denver... This move reminds me of when the cowboys brought in Dan Campbell after three consecutive 5-11 seasons... He's like a defibulator for the team, and can shock some life into them, and bring a winning attitude and mentality. #2 WR- You'd be an idiot to pay Givens the money that the Titans did. There is no sense in over-paying just to do it. Nate Burleson is interesting, but I don't like trading picks... Ever... There are a few guys who could be let go from there current teams and find a home in Houston... It still needs to be adressed, but lets wait and see. Offensive Line- The line is over all terrible, but we're talking about Kubiak and his new staff, the guys who have executed the zone blocking scheme in Denver for years on end. They'll adress this position in the draft, so I'll give Kubiak the benifet of the doubt. On defense, a lot will hinge on how Jason Babin plays in the DE slot, and if Travis Johnson will find his feet at this level, along with the question of can Phillip Buchannon be anything...
