Any chance for Rhodes?

At this point, the assumption has to be that Rhodes gets more playing time but I cannot imagine the Colts will end up with only him as a starter (if so - buy heavily into the IND passing game). Most likely, IND will take a RB in the first round and then you will overpay for him in your draft. Rhodes will get more playing time if only as a blocker on passing downs.

Is there any chance that D.Rhodes will be the starter this year or will Indy draft a RB first round?

I got offered Rhodes for my 3.1 pick(25th overall)

Thanks

I think they'll draft whichever RB slips to them late in the 1st...

I wouldn't make that deal. From what I hear he isn't an NFL starter and they will get someone. Avernus seems right.

Why don't they like Rhodes though?  When he stepped in when Edge got hurt, he was pretty darn good.........

my memory is failing me right now...I am dead tired...but I think he's injury prone...

when hook pops in, he'll likely set the record straight...I can't say I've seen too many Colts games...

but to my inconsistent memory...he tends to leave games, even in spot duty...

The BOLDED part is what I'm thinking also.

Imagine how coveted it will be for a rookie RB to go to IND knowing he will become a starter. I bet the guy goes in the second round of drafts in most leagues.

yeah, and only rhodes to compete with. if they end up with maroney or, by some miracle, deangelo, then yeah i think that guy is a no-brainer mid to late second round fantasy pick next year. if it's a guy like addai or brian calhoun, maybe a round or so lower IMO.

There will probably be some RBBC (especially early on), but I agree.

but after he lost his son...I'm not sure very much bothers him football wise.

He didn't seem terribly upset after that horrible choke-job in the playoffs last year. Hopefully he'll get back into the correct frame of mind after he's through mourning his son. His nonchalant attitude towards their collapse last year was unacceptable for an NFL coach.

Dungy stated yesterday that Rhodes gets the first shot.  He also said they would probably need another back or two to make up for Edge.  he didn't sound too worried, but after he lost his son...I'm not sure very much bothers him football wise.

That is what I heard him say on NFL Radio too. He did say that he didn't think Rhoads alone could take over for James.

I agree. The rook they take will be drafted (by some idiots) ahead of guys like Caddy. I will also watch and laugh as the same guys probably take Chester Taylor believing that Minnesota will actually leave Smith, Fason and Moore on the bench and that Minny won't be a RBBC. Have fun guys banking on the likes of Taylor and an Indy Rookie.

IF the Indy rookie is Moroney, he will definitely fit in perfect in their offense, and would be worth a late 2nd, early-mid 3rd round pick, but not before Caddy.....

I've said it here at least a hundred times. Colts draft a back in April, Rhodes probably gets the Opening Day start at least, and until he gets hurt (which shouldn't take long) or the rook distinguishes himself it will probably be RBBC. Most likely to stay that way until the young guy is ready.

One thing to consider about a Colts RB is that their O-line hasn't been playing very well over the past year and a half or so. While they still beat up on inferior opponents during the regular season, they haven't been able to establish the run over their past three playoff games. And their pass protection has been wretched. Even if the Colts end up with a single featured back who stays healthy for the year, I wouldn't automatically consider him a Top 10 fantasy back.
