charty
Was he the momotard that blew out his knee celebrating a kick? 1407202[/snapback] It was mentioned, and laughed about. I'm sure the Patriots will have a no name free agent, rookie free agent, or even a late round draft pick kicker in camp, and if that person beats out Gramatica, he'll be cut. Flip_Side
Gramatica used to kick for Tampa, they used to like him a lot. They called him "automatica", I guess he isn't automatica anymore.

Lost atleast 3 games for us that year and we cut his ass. He then signed with Indy to do kickoff duty. If he is healthy he's a solid kicker. keggerz
If i recall Martin's problems all started in a game where Carolina blocked either and XPT or a FG....and i think his last game it was Carolina that blocked 3 of his kicks...something when wrong upstairs and it is sorta like a golfer getting the yips putting...if he fixed his head he will be solid

nhoops
This came as a shock....why not Edinger?..he's still out there and he PLAYED last year. Unless they didn't want to pay him what he was looking for I'd be much happier with him. Like others have said HOPEFULLY he's healed from his inj. and has his head on straight....he's a cold weather kicker right......

MikesVikes
Everything that I saw about this said that Martin is a "possible" replacement for the team. Possible is the important word in the story.
Crazysight
I think people may be surprised by Gramatica. His doctor reported that he was at full strength last year kicking 50 yearders in practice and it was a shame that he was hung up when he should have been out kicking field goals. Age doesn't really matter so much if you're a good kicker either. There are a lot of old veteran kickers who get the job done.
