I think I'll call, say I'm Deanna's brother and tell them Brett's ready to make a decision tonight.
Big Score 1
Fear not Packer Backers & Favre Devotees. Whether he retires or not, all is well. Packers force Favre to freeze sperm for Brett 2.0 The Green Bay Packers took a step toward regaining their dynasty Friday, freezing the sperm of three-time MVP quarterback Brett Favre. The sperm will be used, according to team officials, to ensure the Packers are a viable contender for decades to come. Favre did not initially consent to the donation of his DNA, but eventually underwent the short "procedure" at a Kaukauna sperm bank after he learned he was contractually obligated to "give the Packers his all." Apparently, Favre agreed to the vague terms during a contract extension that was signed "while Brett was deep in a Vicodin bender back in '95," said his agent James "Bus" Cook. Favre, who was mowing his lawn in Kiln, Miss., was unavailable for comment, but neighbor, Rod Wynan, spoke to OMC. "Brett's cool with it. He said the porn at the clinic was hotter than a satellite dish in the Ju-ly sun," says Wynan. Full Story - onmilwaukee.com

Moss6
Brett Favre Says He’ll Return if Packers Improve the Quarterback Position Brett Favre issued an ultimatum to the Green Bay Packers today, saying he won’t return to the team unless they show they are dedicated to making a playoff run by improving the team’s vastly underperforming quarterback position. “Anyone who watched this team play the last few years knows we don’t have a snowball’s chance in hell of winning a Super Bowl unless we get better play out of the quarterback position,” said Favre. “Not to make a personal attack, but our quarterback has been terrible. It’s impossible to win in this league when you have a guy back there who repeatedly throws into double, triple and even quadruple coverage. And at this stage in my career I want to be on a winning team. Either they bring in a good quarterback who gives us a legitimate shot at winning some games or I’m retiring.”

rebdog
I heard a comment on ESPN Radio today that Favre seems to really want a reason to come back. He probably still has the desire to play and the ability to play at a high level, but he's desperate for the Packers to give him any indication that they're going into this season trying to win. This seems very logical to me. The guy won't play for another team, he wants to stay and retire as a Packer. But at this point in his career, he needs to see that his efforts aren't just to earn his salary but to make a playoff run. Its really too bad. He's too loyal to ask to be traded; he knows he can still get it done; but the Packers won't be good for at least a couple years. (And he didn't tell all the reporters that he was announcing his decision today.)

They need some o line players but TT is so worried about over spending he didn't get anyone. The D has been improved and may be good after the draft. They need 2 guards and a center. As a football fan, I appreciated what Favre brought to the game. He WAS a GREAT quarterback. I like entertainment. As a football fan who likes to be entertained, I like to watch TO on the field and follow his antics...to a limit. I am straight and I do not like drama queens, be they Liberace or a former NFL MVP. As a straight, football fan who likes to be entertained but to a limit, Brett Favre has gone too far. Favre, make a decision. "No change. I don't know, once again," he said Saturday during a brief news conference from the site of his charity golf tournament. "I don't know why you guys wasted a trip down here. The Packers and I will make a decision at some point soon." It was Favre, however, who scheduled the news conference, and a personal assistant to the Favre family had said a "scoop" awaited. A Packers spokesman did not immediately return a call.

Does anyone have a problem with calling a news conference to announce the future endeavors of a charity foundation? Chers.

Are you talking about the Packers' front office? The players? Both? Up until now, I had thought Favre earned the right to stay or leave on his own terms, but this is getting really silly. He needs to let the team know his plans before the draft. He can't pull a Ricky Williams. Edited April 9, 2006 by Wolverines Fan
