LinDale White would be such a stud if he'd just fix his conditioning. I said so 5 minutes after the Rose Bowl ended and he still apparently hasn't fixed that. Somebody needs to catch dude's ear and get him to live up to his potential otherwise I'll always look at him and think he wasted his talent.

I see this wrote all over him. And yes this will happen. I have seen enough on him to believe in this statement. Patience agility and speed is the key to the NFL. Not just speed and agility.

Weren't people saying similar things about JJ Arrington last season?

I wasnt. But I never really saw JJ play in college. I saw DeAngelo and was really really impressed. Alot will depend on what team drafts him, but I have been touting this kid for a good while now. He reminds me of Priest Holmes.

Here is the write up where this guy compares him to Holmes as well:

DeAngelo Williams, Memphis

Height: 5-8

Weight: 208

Likely Draft Position: Mid to Late First Round

Possible Destinations: Patriots, Broncos, Colts

NFL Comparison: Brian Westbrook

Though also somewhat undersized, Williams was a productive collegiate runner (an NCAA record 34 100-yard rushing games) whose 969 carries would seem to refute concerns that he's not durable enough to withstand a feature-back load. He does have an injury history that includes a broken foot, broken leg, MCL tear, and knee sprain, but he played 44 games at Memphis and looked solid at the Senior Bowl.

Like Bush, scouts are divided on whether Williams' physical limitations will hold him back at the pro level. He's an adept pass-catcher and could certainly fill a third-down role; he's also thick and runs low, with 60 collegiate touchdowns indicating he can do some inside work as well. Does anyone else think that sounds a whole lot like Priest Holmes?

Williams should also have the benefit of falling to a more established team later in the first round, allowing him to enter a situation better suited for his success. The Patriots could use him as a change-of-pace back until Corey Dillon retires, the Broncos have made more out of far less talent, and the Colts would do cartwheels if he falls to them at the end of round one.

I'd be concerned....

The MCL tear would be my only concern. Rest heals. But if you went to any Memphis game. You would see anytime he touched the ball he could take it clean to the house. By speed, agility, or patience. The vision of this guy is off the CHARTS! And think he was running behind no great O-line u hear any of them being talked about being drafted in the first 4 rounds. His QB for talking sakes was a WR out. People knew to put 8 or 9 in the box. He still beat them like a drum time after time. But I do like the Holmes, Priest talk of him. But to me he looks more like TCU own out of Conference USA, we all know as LT. Speed, agility, patience, vision, strength, catching ability and down right run you over if you standing their like a fool. Game tape does this guy justice. U could just about watch any of his games and see all this. All the carries worry me. But most backs come in are workhorses on their respective team that is why they get drafted so high. But again if this kid gets a Decent O-line its over. You want have to worry about him out running blockers he'll wait on them to seal the deal and then take off. Or take off if he needs too. I look at it this way when it comes to Bush and Williams. Bush needs a O-line. Williams dont! Speed kills, but Patience on blockers, vision and speed kills you every time. And if i didnt say it before the many can catch the ball as well.

Where did DeAngelo go to high school?  Is he a local Memphis kid?  Did he not get any offers to go to an SEC school?  Why did he go to Memphis?

The bio on the Memphis website makes it sound like he was a prized recruit out of HS in Wynne, Arkansas. Also recruited by Ole Miss, Arkansas and Iowa. Had a solid prep career, so maybe the guy just wanted to stick around home.

The broken foot was in his sophomore year of high school by the way.

He is from WYnne Arkansas which is a hotbed of fotball recruiting. He was in the same backfield with the best back you have never hear of, Antonio Warren (don't worry, you will know next fall). Antonio went to A state and Deangelo was thinking about it as well. One night during his sophomore or junior year he called into Drivetime sports which is Arkansas' largest sports show. He didn't tell them who he was and asked about himself and if they thought he would be a good recruit. They sdi he seemed soild but probably not large enough to start in the sec. Later a couple of razorback fans called in and were clowning him so he told Houston Nutt that we was above playing for Arkansas, or IN Arkansas. He flirted with a few SEC schools and ultimately signed with Tiger High to be close to his crib. He and I also have several mutual friends and all say he is a top notch kid. He is no JJ Arrington, he is a stud. You will see and you will learn what I know. He is short but thick and is now around 220 pounds which put him about the same weight as most nfl feature backs.
