So, what's the chatter on Walker

I have a gut feeling that he isn't going anywhere... especially if Favre retires...

But for those who think he will mozy on... is this something that is likely to happen on draft day? or do you think that this will be a training camp move?

where all do you think that he'll go?

My hunch is he ends up in Philly in a deal involving a second-round pick and a player (offensive or defensive lineman, most likely).

Favre is coming back.

This sounds about right to me...

If Favre was basing his decision on whether he thinks they could be a winning franchise next year then I would imagine if Walker goes, he goes too. Without a viable reciever I think they could actually be worse. :D

Mort just said something will be done on draft day.I wouldn't take anything less that a 1 myself, but a player and 2 would work. Driver is still good but can't do anything alone.

PHILLY?!?!  I don't think they will take another chance on a WR that likes to call his own shots.

TO is unique. Walker wouldn't tear a team apart.

even a 2 is too high for a WR coming off an ACL injury...

I'd offer a 3 and a 4...Eagles have 3 4th's...

I'd much rather trade 2 4th's, though

injury is a factor, but i don't think 3 and a 4 would do it. walker's still in his prime and when healthy a top 10 receiver.

I dunno...I have trouble giving a 2nd for a WR with a very good season, a great season and then a blown ACL..

of course he's still young too...but even maybe a 3rd this year and a 2nd next year would be fine...

You are saying he is worth less than Holmes or Chad Jackson.

I think he needs to play some to show people he is back. Until he does that I wouldn't trade him. He was a top WR when healthy.

Holmes ad Jackson are question marks. If healthy Walker isn't. You can't punish the team because he wants to be traded. He's not going to give up over $1 million and sit.

it's still a 1st round pick where you don't have to get Chad jackson...

you can get a RB, DT, a corner etc...

you are valuing a 1st differently than they are actually valued..

Perhaps. I'm valuing Walker differently because he has succeeded in the NFL and college players are always question marks. I think he has to play a few games to determine his health, but he probably won't.

I heard he might be headed to Denver. They'll sh*t-can Lelie, make a draft day deal...anyone else hear Shanny might be ineterested?

Pasqarelli(sp.?) was on ESPN radio today and said that while Denver obviously needs a wr,they would be unlikely to trade a high (they have 2 1st rounders) pick for him b/c of the knee.

I hear the Eagles are willing to give a pretty decent pick if they can come to an agreement with Walker...

but there are 6 other teams interested...

Hey Av,

Are you hearing this on WIP or some other source?

Since when is ACL surgery such a big deal for a WR? If teams (like Denver, according to Pasquarelli) are trying to use that as a reason not to give up as much in a deal, then Thompson should tell them to go f*ck themselves.

Walker injured his knee in WEEK ONE of 2005. He'll have almost an entire year of recovery under his belt when training camp starts -- that's PLENTY of time for a WR to come back from ACL surgery. Plus, even WITH a slightly gimpy knee, Walker is a 1200 & 10 WR.

I honestly hope we hold onto him, wait 5-6 games for him to prove himself, then extend his contract.

I don't think Walker will play for Green Bay again. They burned that bridge last year. I understand managements position but they should have given the guy the money he deserved and moved on What is ironic in all of this is that Favre was the one publicly telling Javon to honor his contract and play and now is the one bitching that the team sucks and that if they dont get some players he may not come back. Trade Walker, say goodbye to Brett and start the rebuilding.

I agree with the philosophy...

but a draft pick doesn't come with baggage or a 2 year string of holdouts or an ACL injury...

he's still only 27, but it seems longer now..

Howard Eskin said it on sports final....he said the Eagles are willing to give up what it takes to get him...or at least more than what everyone else is offering...

they just need to come to an agreement with him..

they are just posturing with picks using the whole "we have no interest in dealing Walker"...

he will be gone between now and draft day...

likely when the Eagles are on the clock in the 1st or 2nd round :D

I agree, but listening to Packer fans you would wonder why he would be worth a 1st or 2nd rounder. They place his value more around the 6th or 7th round.

all I hear from Packer fans is he's at least worth a 2nd...regardless of the torn ACL and his holdouts..
